    Festive cheer without the beer

Apple juice, cinnamon stick, clove, heated through. I used to have a gas stove on the landrover tailgate and brew up a cauldron of it for outdoor events like our dog training group. A nice little winter warmer and everyone was safe to drive home after.

What are your favourite pocket knives?

For the sake of 3 mm I would be tempted to get out the stones and just sharpen the extra off to make it legal.

    Dog Collars

Orbiloc are awesome but a bit big for little spangles, thanks for the Leuchties link, at last someone who realises the battery mght be the heavy bit and immediately fall to the lowest point... Also, made in Weiden in der Oberpfalz, spent many years there.

    Dog Collars

Aye I guess, but that surely is the difference between walking and working them. On a walk I get more input on where we go and what the obstacles are like. Also if they are having a bit of a "manic, highly excited dervish" day we can go another route.

    Dog Collars

Prefer something designed for dog and the abuse they can deliver. Last thing I need is for it to fall off 200meters through solid brambles away.

    HEXAMINE. PLEASE READ!

Did we get to the stage of looking up the "Ban Dihydrous Oxide" page yet?

    Dog Collars

Light up dog collars, who can reccomend me something? For a little explanation I do NOT want a dangly light that hangs from the D-clip (always feel these flash right where the dog is looking and I would find it uncomfortable so pretty sure looking everywhere with flashing lights would be...

What are your favourite pocket knives?

I have a few, but a denim blue version of this seems to have decided to become a permanent resident in my pocket since its arrival a year or so ago...

    HEXAMINE. PLEASE READ!

Seeing as they have effectively banned 12V car batteries, jogging might be one of the few transport options available.

It is there in black and white on the home office link posted by Rob.L

I just hope they are not considering adding HydrochloricAcid to the list.

15%w/w Sulphuric acid ? These morons have just made it illegal to own a car battery. Apologies for the language but I can find no other words.

    Leaky gutters. Advice please.

That is the really annoying thing though, if they had looked after the gutters you would never have ended up with damp patches. The damage that damp can do can be thousands of pounds. All because they were too lazy to carry out a really simple job. As for you, yeah let the damp patch dry...

    Leaky gutters. Advice please.

Sorry to hear your h/a is so rubbish that a simple maintenance job that would cost them a few quid every year seems way beyond their capabilities. Hope you get it sorted, I guess you have a choice of paying a few quid yourself and asking them to refund you or just paying yourself and at least...

    Leaky gutters. Advice please.

OK more details... If it is leaking out the joins at the corner and coming down like a water curtain. Water shouldn't be sitting there at all, merely flowing past. Clean out the crud, then work out why it is sitting there. It really is that simple sometimes. Only way to do it is to get up...

    Leaky gutters. Advice please.

If you can not see visibly broken gutter, gutter hanging off the wall mounts or huge sags in the gutter then just send your friend up there with a spoon or a trowel and a bucket to collect all the crud that has built up in there. Edited to add... taping the spoon to a broom handle will help...

    Edible fish in the UK

Am not sure if there is anything in British waters that is inedible although some species are protected and others just taste like mud... These 2 books look pretty good though. https://specieshunter.co.uk/uk-fish/

Someone has been done for carry Zombie knives.

"They were both charged with possession of a knife" Note the wording.

    Irrational attachment to inanimate objects

For me it is Zippo lighters. I gave up smoking years ago but my Zippos were constant companions and most of them have some memories attached.

What are the worst-case-scenario hiking situations?

Really think you should look into some kind of tracking device, either for him or for the dog (or maybe both?) Let's face it a couple of paracetamol and an elastoplast isnt going to help if he stumbles and breaks an ankle. Couple of possibilities here but there are dozens of others if you start...
