    Anguis fragilis_lizard...w/o legs

Yes, you're right, it's really easy to find them killed by people that think they're vipers. Very nice pics Alfredo, thanks for sharing!! If anyone is interested I can add that here in Italy the common name for this lizard is "Orbettino"

    Anguis fragilis_lizard...w/o legs

I have seen the Ammodytes only once, when walking through Valcellina and Vajont valley in Friuli Venezia Giulia. It's really a beautiful snake. It's a funny coincidence that in these days I'm receiving spam from some "Carpat Investments group" that sells horned vipers powdered venom :)

You have to start from somewhere...

As far as I've been told we will learn the basics of paddling but most of all how to cope with "difficult" situations (for example we will learn to eskimo roll in a pool). I will let you know how it's going. My only other way to learn was to take a canoe and try by myself, so I thought this was...

You have to start from somewhere...

So tomorrow I will start a kayaking course... I have never touched a paddle so I decided to start with an expert. I see a lot of fun in the future, in the meantime, wish me good luck :) :canoe:

    Canada georeferenced maps

I haven't seen post on this, it seems a valuable resource. The Canadian Centre for Topographic Informations in Ottawa ha produced digital topo maps of Canada by scanning paper topo maps at 1:50.000 and 1.250.000 scales. The map sets, georeferenced, are available through this link...

Where do you keep you knives?

Forgive my bad english. What i meant was that the number of knives that I own is continuously growing, but the space to store them (with order) is not. So, since SWMBO is kindly complaining when she find cutting tools here and there, I know it's time to do something :lmao: Cheers, Paolo

Where do you keep you knives?

Where do you keep you edged friends when not carrying or using them? I keep them in a small wooden box with drawers that I bought from ikea, but my buying rate is far greater than the space available.. I also have the problem that my fixed blades are too great to fit in the small drawers...

    "Best" bushcraft book...?

Ray Mears Survival handbook is probably my favourite one too, probably because it was the first one that I have read on this subject. It was after watching Ray Mears tv shows that I started reading books to build up some kind of knowledge around my love for the outdoor living, so I think I owe a...

    RAT Cutlery Fire Steel kit

It seems very expensive... even if the review tells a lot of good things about it. I usually carry a Lightmyfire Scout or Army with some tinder (cotton soaked in vaseline) in one of these. I have recently bought from Dealextreme also a magnesium firestarter, I'm waiting for it to arrive to...

    Which Digital watch?

I love my Sunto Vector. It has more than just watch and date, but I have found useful the barometer, the thermometer and most of all the compass. It's very reliable, tough and absolutely waterproof.
