    It was a quote from the Coastguard "Peter Godding, of Stornoway Coastguard, who co-ordinated the search, said the Canadian-style canoe had "no inherent buoyancy - and is quite an unstable canoe unless you are with people who are experienced".

    Shovels?

    I carry one in my lightweight toilet kit, although not much use for moving hot coals around in the fire :) Shewie did a great mod to an alpkit 'Snow Ankkor' to make a lightweight metal trowel, but the photos are now gone :(

    Skin so soft used to come in either a pink or green container. The green one, I think, used to be marketed as 'woodland fresh' and then 'soft and fresh' :)

    I spent many a happy hour beach combing at Cromer. My girlfriend made jewellery and used to collect Amber on the high tide mark. This was the 80's though and i'm not sure if much can be found now. (Amber floats in salt water, whilst the pebbles sink. It's tedious work, but she made a living ;))
