    Halfords Ad

Any one else liking the new Halfords Ad, it has a 70's vibe (probably the Skids track) that reminds me of my childhood :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qrCRPnqlms

    Pimp my Carry

Yep Tundra repairs (ex-berghaus staff) charge £25 to replace the lid elastic, so a bit of 2mm bungee sounds ideal. It's too short in the back (size 2) so it's off to my nephew for cadet use, so i'm not spending any money on it.

    Pimp my Carry

I was driving round at work when I saw a couple filling a skip out side their house, the bloke was throwing a green rucksack into the skip and caught my attention. They had just bought the house and were clearing the garage of all the old junk left in it. They didn't mind me having a bit of a...

    Pimp my Carry

The only rucksack pimping done so far is two full cycle machine washes, the final one in Nikwax tecwash. It hasn't turned out too bad. Next to clean, salvaged from the skip, is a Primus Nº210 and a Markill fuel bottle :)

    Pimp my Carry

It has a few mildew stains (no problem, I'll just tell people it's dancam :)) I will probably hand it over to my Nephew for cadets I already have an old canvas Roc I use. i don't add side pockets for that reason, I like to keep the weight and kit to a minimum.

Does anyone know if a Alpkit/vargo Ti mug, when fitted to a 1L nalgene, will fit inside a Maxpedition bottle pouch (much the same as a crusader cup/osprey bottle pouch)

    When is it a camp?

In the 80's I was trekking through the Ordesa national park, Spanish Pyrenees and ended up looking for a place to camp. There were signs everywhere saying 'No Camping'. I eventually found a park ranger, who summed it up for me when he said "We allow bivouacking, but not camping. If you pitch...

+1 for the MSR Dromedary bags. Had one for going on eleven years now, so I consider it good value for money.
