That's it from me.. well.. probably not..

Take things easy for a while. Your body needs time to heal. Simples. S/d the silly work ethic and go read some books. You will be surprised at how much better you will feel in two weeks time. S

    Me and Mountains...

I was always a water person never a mountain person. I went climbing in Derbyshire with friends. There was more worry about gear theft that weekend than slips and falls. Says a lot about the sport eh! S:confused:

    Cherries

It is a race to who-gets-the-prize first. Us or the birds. Here it looks like a good year for cherries. Walnuts too. I’m encouraging and capturing suckers too in competition with the browsing deer!

Finding shops with large knife display, and other interesting things!

Eee when I was a lad, the place to go was The Game Fair for knives. Not sure in this day and age if the displays that I remember are put on show though. Even the huge jaggedy topped Bowie type knife made from special rubberised steel and only for show! S

Please, no fires particularly at this time of year. If you want a fire have one in your very own garden. ‘Nearly Wild Camping’ site may have a spot that suits you. Have a look-see on their site. I am ‘re-wilding’ Suffolk farmland. This is an interesting exercise. So much to learn. Just the simple things such as NOT mowing grass makes a huge difference.

Converting a wood burner to a boiler stove?

Some years ago I had an Efel wood-burner no back boiler. My friends in Wales had the exact same wood-burner with a back boiler and four radiators. Similar sized house. My fire was v quick to heat my living room and if the door was left open the heat sneaked upstairs too. My friends unit took...
