I remember once having the same issue & asking a neighbour who worked for K Shoes for some glue. He gave me a contact adhesive and a G Cramp. The repair outlasted the boots! That was when K shoes was a good brand.

Ok. So there is a spoon group meeting at the National Trust hub in Windermere one Tuesday evening a month from 5-8pm. That doesn’t work for me in the winter, but I hope to join a few sessions in the summer. I’m posting it for others who may be interested.

Happy New Year all. Just wondering if any of you got any fun bushcrafty stuff for Christmas? I thought mine was going to be all dull this year & then the family gave me a voucher for one of Barn’s spoon carving courses in February. Result!

Me too. I do a lot of lurking these days. It would do me good to have to make something again.

Plus one for Larousse Gastronomique. Also for Food Lab. Michel Roux Sr’s book Pastry is a classic for patisserie also. That should at least get you started. Then probably Modernist Cuisine to catch up on the molecular stuff. Great British Chefs online is also good for keeping up to date.
