Crossbow and broadhead sales ban and crossbow licensing one step closer.

When they come for your target bow next, as that could hurt someone too? Honestly, do you all want to be cutting your nice lab grown steak ( has to be lab grown cos cows fart and are dangerous to the atmosphere,) with a plastic knife...oh wait, it will come pre cut. Yes I'm being overly...

Its a reported fact the man in the susuki in derby is Indian and has been charged with attempted murder with a vehicle.. Fact, not racism. Having a guess at someone's religion isn't racist either. One could easily guess what religion I might belong to based on where I come from and where I...

I know of 3 people injured by cars in the last year. One can now barely walk and needs a motability wagon. I've lost friends to vehicle accidents over the years. I don't know of anyone hurt, or who's had life changing injuries from a crossbow. Out of interest, can anyone be bothered to find out...

7 or 70, injured, a susuki swift or a pantecnican. The point being, it was used to hurt people. Designed for it or not, a vehicle does far more damage each year to human life and health than a crossbow. And blow me down, you have to pass a test, get insured, have an mot etc. Far more...

So, I've just learned that someone drove a van into a crowd of people in Derby yesterday, injuring 20 people. I'll bet that van had all the paperwork in order. But whether it had or not, it didn't stop someone attempting to injure and kill innocent others out minding their own business. The...

    What are you growing?

Today has been a lovely mild day, so I've been busy hauling compost and topsoil home, (not easy without a car) Cutting the grass, weeding one of my beds, planting up the potato bags, and several other veg seeds. Scrubbed the steps. Weeded all the pots, and built a bonfire with the dead budliea...

It is so obviously about the persons attitude, not the item in question.

But Pattree, no amount of legislation, actualy stops people obtaining and using anything. Legislation doesn't even stop legal owners using them for nefarious actions. The police can only act if they find an item. By which time it could well be too late as the item has already been used. How...

That was exactly my point. I am cynical that any legislation does anything to stop unwanted behavior. Just another stick to beat us all with. A few years ago, fairly near me, a local registered shotgun owner , well respected and known, and shall we say on the better off side of life, killed...

How's the knife ban working? stabbings have been reduced or stopped ? Oh, no they are happening daily. Perhaps the axe attack on a young mother last week should initiate a ban or licencing of axes.? Hang on, I'll fish my tongue out of cheek. Just wondering.....

    Spring anyone ?

This afternoon, I had to rush inside from attempting to sort out the clematis, due to a sudden crazy hail storm. Went from warm sunshine to hail in about two minutes. I just managed the last cut as it came down. Its gone very very chilly this evening.

How does your diabetes affect what you can eat? Can you heat stuff up? Packs of cheap noodles that you can add stuff to perhaps. Apples, nuts, dried fruits, oatcakes. Jars of olives and cheese like baby bells I'd go to band m and get the small multipacks of peas , carrots, and sweetcorn, then a...

Is "preparedness" a state of mind?

Leigh is a good down to earth chap. No flum flam or hype, like some others. Spoken to him many times on the phone, and got both bushcraft items and some "prepping supplies" ie a berkfield water filter, food grade buckets, and some other bits and bobs. Always excellent advice, and extremely...
