French F1 Commando Tent (canvas) preview

Just stood up to about 10% annual rainfall in a matter of hrs.....;) tough liitle tent. Performed well above it's pay grade. Dry within, despite exposed zips. Slept well. (polycotton F1)

Swedish army trangia + gas adapter

SS would be way too heavy.....never had an issue with genuine or repro. ally ones......and it is still heavy enough; started using instead a One Tigris titanium twig/trangia stove, lighter and fuel versatile?

    New Backpack

What Erbs says: the Sting is a blinder of a pack and with an adjustable back height: essential in my book for any pack with serious pretensions. The British bergens whilst robust are not adjustable.................

    Sleeping Bags: Mummy or Straight

Have both this and the Snugpak 15 ....both bulky/heavy for backpacking, but the Army thing is versatile, cheap and surprisingly effective The Snugpak 15 is a very good winter bag........

Lightweight 2 person tent, dedicated porch and head room?

One Tigris Smokey Hut plus mozzy interior ? Very light, wind resistant (being tipi, though wouldn't be my first choice as a mountain tent!) very compact. Loads of room. Just a thought....................

    Lowe alpine sting - Weight

Whilst not the lightest of packs, being military surplus it's incredibly tough......but the weight of the pack is not the b all.......the overall weight of your load and the comfort of the pack are both the b all. The Sting helps enormously by having an adjustable back to ensure a good fit...
