I am 6' 4".......but it's not ones height that's the issue, it's ones back length....measured from bump at base of neck (C7) to top of pelvic girdle.
As a rule of thumb, go for packs with adjustable back lengths or measure the back length; for despite my height my back...
As has been said before, but not enough......know your back length and get a pack that fits you properly, or has an adjustable back. Everthing else is secondary to this..........
THey are now hard, and getting expensive, to find. My first stop would be Military Mart...but phone Dave and speak to him as he can be very helpful and tenacious in finding stuff? Don't rely on their website.............
Also, Varusteleka have proven a good source?
UPDATE:
This pack, like most has now undergone several incarnations or versions of modification over the years......
1/ It now hangs from a 70s aluminium frame with a bottom shelf. This saves some weight over the steel original frame and leaves more room underneath if you want to stuff anything...
A bit late in the day....but there is a builder of wooden canoes (lighter than plastic) not far from you and I.......Weston Canoes. (also cheaper than plastic)
Also a builder of lighter plastic canoes near to us as well.....Silverbirch Canoes, in Duralite??
