Crossbow and broadhead sales ban and crossbow licensing one step closer.

So you can't forbid cars, they are available for mayhem all the time. Now how does that make them less dangerous. A perfect weapon, gov can't restrict them! Besides the logic of forbidding something to make it less available is more than slightly wrong, it is less available to people who...

Crossbow and broadhead sales ban and crossbow licensing one step closer.

Well, yes and no, what needs to be done is relatively simple but it takes an awful amount of work and the cost is an imperium's ransom if it needs to be done on an existing environment.

Crossbow and broadhead sales ban and crossbow licensing one step closer.

Not strictly true, I have used a rifle twice to make holes into very thick wall. Actually worked well, except some noise maybe.

    Barlow knife ?

The smiley was there to show that this should not be taken too seriously, except I like the looks. Some of the more traditional folders I have are not all metal at the hinge but I guess I did not buy them for EDC use, some also might have issues with galvanic corrosion. Hackman butterfly...

    Barlow knife ?

That certainly looks nice and if the whole hinge area is metal it probably would take any normal EDC needs. Maybe I have to start changing my suspicion of folders. (I guess I have half a dozen from various parts of Europe :) )

Is "preparedness" a state of mind?

:) there seems to be some cultural differences, here if your hobby was "eräily" (roughly translates to BC) you were considered slightly idealistic, rustic dinosaur who for some strange reason avoided sensible modern trends; who in her right mind would voluntarily be eaten by mosquitoes and be...

    A.I Created images and video

It is known that the Moon Race had such a hectic pace that a lot of things did not get documented properly if at all. So it is probably true that we do not know everything involved. That is not the same as "we can't get a man to the Moon". By putting as much money into it as went into Apollo...

    DIY Alcohol gel

Yup, one has to get acetic acid from somewhere but once formed it is a solid in its pure form.

    DIY Alcohol gel

Calcium acetate is not soluble in ethanol so to get the gel it has to be solved in something.

    Best size axe

I haven't tested quite as many but found that the 500-700 g weight and 40-50 cm handle to be OK. Most manufacturers do not do the longer handle because it looks a bit funny but it is much better for two handed work.

    Knives for beginners?

Mora is a knife in northern tradition. Others would work too. So around 2-3 mm thick and 10 cm long, simple blade shape, handle that fits your hand. Sheath that holds the knife securely. Number 1 property; made of steel and heat treated so that it can be sharpened properly, proper edge...

Is "preparedness" a state of mind?

With the few people I have known to be somewhere on autism spectrum I have felt them to be "strange" but so far never threatening in any way.

Is "preparedness" a state of mind?

But do they follow you with a creepy smile on their face?

Is "preparedness" a state of mind?

I agree, slightly overly cautious with advancing age tends to look like acquired wisdom.

Is "preparedness" a state of mind?

Hmmm ... relatively fit but over 70 so not really safe either. Definitely cynical, that is my second hidden name. In this case I was just trying to point out that with this kind of instinctive reactions one still has to retain some cold consideration to remain within reality.

Is "preparedness" a state of mind?

I guess if it works just follow but I can see a very, very fine line with paranoia. ;) Careful out there.

Is "preparedness" a state of mind?

WG was a "victim" in his eyes, there is a study done with criminals that found out that they are looking for certain signs on the street for potential victims, if one does not fit into that category they'll let you pass. So do not look like a victim or engage in some defensive actions like WG did.

    Going green broke my fridge!

The problem with the fridge is not that it is particularly inefficient (yes could have better insulation and seals) but that it is a stand alone one. One could use the heat pumped out of it to heat the water if we had even rudimentary integrated energy systems in ordinary households but no we...

    A brief question

Viscose fibers are round while cotton cross section varies which means that cotton generally dries faster as it has greater surface/mass ratio. Also sometimes viscose has larger diametre which leads to same. Fine viscose fibers handle better and also feel softer though they are not as good...
