Yes, copper bars and coins sell often in bullion groups I'm in, and appear to be gaining in popularity.

I don't know an awful lot about copper, but I'm going to guess that much like silver, pure stamped bars are worth more than scrap? It'll also take up a lot less room.

Some fun in the snow (Brecon Beacons)

You're welcome. I think I got the microspikes from Alpinetrek, but they are readily available from numerous places. These ones are Grivel. I think pretty much the two 'top' brands of microspike readily available in the UK are Grivel and Kahtoola. Not that I have tried the Kahtoolas, but I...

Some fun in the snow (Brecon Beacons)

Just a few photos from a walk to Pen y Fan last week and some dogsbodying opposite Pen y Fan over the weekend. During my walk I had to 'rescue' a girl who was seriously struggling on an ice incline and was, for want of a better word, 'frozen' on the spot. The microspikes I was wearing made easy...

I made another 3% on a Silver trade which I entered last week and sold today.

I agree, and have been saying the same thing. Have been thinking about stacking some copper bars.

'Tycho' is an interesting crater. It's relatively young at only 108 million years old, and you can still see the marks on the moon from where the material was ejected outwards from the impact, something that has weathered away on most others. Amazing if you think about it.

    Your picture of the day...

That last photo was literally me holding my phone up to the lens. Some of the other photos were with a dslr and t-adaptor. Would love a dedicated astrophotography camera.

    Your picture of the day...

This was from last night, it was the clearest night looking through the telescope that I have seen so far. There was almost no noticeable atmosphere turbulence. The amount of detail I could see in the moon was mind blowing. This photo was me holding my old smart phone up to the eyepiece. It was...

    Your picture of the day...

Yeah, that light has taken 2.5 million years to reach us. Mind blowing indeed.

    Your picture of the day...

We've been having beautifully clear skies, and my garden points South East, so I get an amazing view of the moon all night. I do actually prefer a partial moon because the shadows cast at the terminator bring out all the detail in the craters. Jupiter is one of my favourite things to observe...

    Your picture of the day...

Yes! Here is the Andromeda galaxy! I think it's much bigger than what you can see in this photo, which is likely just the core, but with being in Pontypridd, and a very bright moon, I don't suppose I'll see much more, but nonetheless, I appreciate it's immense beauty in know that it's another...

    Your picture of the day...

I photographed the Orion Nebula last night. Taking into consideration I took this from my home in Pontypridd, and there was a full moon, and I'm brand new to this, and I don't have any dedicated astrophotography equipment, I'm really happy with the outcome. The first photo is a single image and...

    Your picture of the day...

Tonight's moon. I think I did better than last night. I think the delayed exposure definitely made a difference.

    WHAT DID YOU MAKE TODAY?

For my new telescope, I machined a collimating cap out of aluminium, and some new bearings out of Delrin for the altitude movement on the Dobsonian base. I wasn't sure if the new bearings would make a difference but they absolutely do make a noticeable difference.

    Your picture of the day...

Mind blowing. Especially if you try to contemplate the scale of the universe. If you have a spare 5 minutes, this video is truly humbling..

    Your picture of the day...

I agree, and Jupiter's belts is amazing to look at, and it's moons, especially when they cross in front of the planet, casting a shadow on the planet.

    Your picture of the day...

Tonight's moon through a 10" Sky Watcher Dobsonian telescope and a Nikon D90. I think I was getting shake from the mirror, and I forgot how to lock the mirror up/take a delayed exposure. Will try again tomorrow if, fingers crossed, we have more clear skies.

I exited my silver longs entirely at 8am this morning when the LSE opened. I ended up with a profit that increased that accounts value by over 9% so it was a very nice trade. I will be looking to trade Silver again.
