I'm watching this thread anyway, because I'm also in Ireland and would be interested in the same. My success is hit and miss, and not always sure which variable is off.
A bit off topic, but how do you find that style knife in use? It's a thing that looks tempting to try, but also a 50 / 50 on whether a person would get on with it (I suppose the maker would also play a part in the that)

As I understand it you can't carry a knife without valid reason. So okay if it's for work, or camping or fishing, etc. But not just a general EDC. No sharp or pointy objects allowed.
