    Friction fire course/ tutorial

This is a decent tutorial I think. I'm watching this thread anyway, because I'm also in Ireland and would be interested in the same. My success is hit and miss, and not always sure which variable is off.

A block for sharpening a Tracker style blade

A bit off topic, but how do you find that style knife in use? It's a thing that looks tempting to try, but also a 50 / 50 on whether a person would get on with it (I suppose the maker would also play a part in the that) Interesting pattern anyway.

    Noisy terror in the woods?

We moved to Ireland from South Africa not so long ago. The first time I heard a fox make that noise, or any sound for that matter, I thought someone was being attacked in the street. I later learned that there are foxes all over the place and they make that noise. There's a den in an abandoned...

    Mossy Bottom

My wife and I follow him. Really enjoy his videos... Especially the dog related bloopers at the end. I agree about the realistic nature of his content. It's been great following his journey

    Show me your faithful EDC

As I understand it you can't carry a knife without valid reason. So okay if it's for work, or camping or fishing, etc. But not just a general EDC. No sharp or pointy objects allowed. Now I'm not a lawyer, but as I understand it carrying any knife without a valid reason in ROI could land you in...

    Show me your faithful EDC

Very nice... Cool to see what you all carry. I used to EDC a Vic pioneer, but it's not allowed in Ireland. So I can't anymore. Just keys, wallet and phone now.

    Best budget camping axe?

This may be unpopular opinion, but I say don't spend too much money if you don't have to. Over a year ago I bought a 600g hatchet from the hardware with a fibreglass handle and an axe file. I thought I'd upgrade after a while, but I find it hard to justify. Granted it took a bit of time to get...

Whats the best grind for your ideal bushcraft knife?

I voted scandi... but only up to around 3mm stock. Otherwise I prefer flat, but that's just a personal preference.

    Hello from Dublin

Hello. I'm Ricardo. I'm a South African living in Dublin, ROI. I grew up camping and fishing in South Africa and took up an interest in bushcraft just before moving to Ireland around 2 years ago. Now that we're starting to settle down I'm trying to get out again and enjoy nature. Camping and...
