I was going to do some shopping before the meet, but if there is a local Asda, saves the food being in a stuffy car for 3 hours. So yep, up for that :D Been looking up recipes and cooking techniques... didn't realise it was so simple to roast potatoes with a dutch oven!

Time is a luxury I never have unfortunately... but I am getting to grips with preparation now. My main concern is testing my gear... and that is the only bit I'm nervous about. I want to test the **** out of this gear before I take it anywhere. The clothing I should imagine will come in useful...

A good mate of mine that I've spent many days on the road with had a serious heart defect... not entirely sure on the detail as I've never asked properly, but he had to have some flexible piping put in his heart to keep it pumping. May not be the same thing, but I gather it was serious for him...

Mittens is a great idea... or maybe a bit of stitching and alterations... some woodland slippers? Or, and there is no delicate way to put this... what about some extra warm grundies? You'll never have cold feet with a hat and a good pair of grundies :D

Well you know me, I always bring meat and two veg for each night I stay... no bother to extend the amounts and bring a decent chunk of meat and some extra veg. Anything that doesn't get eaten, I'll eat when I get home anyway :D I'll have a ride over to MM and see what they have Dutch oven...

Its not just me thats got the wrong end of the broken limb from a nearby tree then. I've made all my plans to get to Porjus... seems now thats nowhere near where I need to be, so a new plan, which I shall call Plan C is required.

Okay, just reread through... so we're not going via Porjus on the way in, we're going to Porjus on the way out? I think I've misunderstood the plans... which is kind of lucky to discover now, I'd have been 30 miles in the opposite direction from you.
