if you ad soda CaCO3 to the whater, the lead will react with the CO3 and become solid PbCO3 wich can be filtered out very easy. Don't know about other heavy metals though..... has anyone tried to make a carbon filter yet? could be pretty easy with just some sort of funnel, a tampon and a bit...

you could use a modified beer keg, those kegs with integrated co2 capsule should work(after removing the tap system off course) , a inbev "perfect draft" keg is made a bit more solid and costs about 5 euros in the netherlands(witouth the beer off course).... don't know wether they sell those...

In the mail you say that fire's aren't alowed(exept for the main fireplace) are also hobo stoves or mets stoves not alowed? and will the fire be burning the whole day(like warm breakfast;) )
