What do you lot do for a living?

If I had a band, I'd call it Anal Paperwork Goblin. But instead I work in advertising. Started my 'career' in Bristol working at a television post-production company. Moved to the BBC for a year and a half as a production assistant aka dogsbody/jack of all trades - filming, editing, sound...

    What did you buy today?

An Enzo Birk 75 in D2 with ivory scales. Wickedly sharp and such a smooth action. Can't understand why they don't make this any more, chuffed I found one.

    What did you buy today?

Just received some MTP ECW mittens and wool liners for Lapland in a couple of weeks. Not affiliated with them, but a shout out to In2thewilderness.co.uk for good prices, good service and good communication.

    What are you currently reading?

I've sadly reached the end of the 'Lee' books. I read a couple co-written with his brother but got as far as 'Better Off Dead' and found it unreadable. Just biding my time until I start back at the beginning. The series is a very welcome bonus.

    Life/Perspective changing books or inputs

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson. There are now a million and one self help books, guides and videos. But this was the first one I read which communicated the fundamentals in a digestible way. The main thrust is around self-worth and personal boundaries. Things which seem...

    Ingrained Habits

As someone who's geographically challenged, that's definitely a habit I ought to adopt. I'm also guilty of 2nd or 3rd in the newspaper pile grabbing. Before I shut the door to my home, I jingle my keys in my pocket to avoid any potential lock out.

    First attempt at home

Excellent spoons, well done! Did you use a finish on them?

    What are you currently reading?

I just received this as a gift and am very much looking forward to reading it. Question: do you think it would it be more fruitful to read it from spring onwards when the trees are coming back to life, or is there still merit in reading it now?

    Wanted. stainless steel dinner plates/dishes

I was looking for the same in the summer. I picked up one of these made by zebra https://www.originalequipmentshop.com/campsite/zebra_stainless_steel_plate/25474_p.html Think they do a slightly smaller size as well.

What do you want to have on Bushcraft UK?

Is the videos section something that could be reinstated? I haven't been a member that long, but I don't think it's been populated with videos since I joined. How did it used to work?

    Silky Gomboy Sheath

Thanks Tony. Yeah, I can't wait. I did their fundamental course last year, such a great team. They've got some cracking courses and trips on next year, so I think I'll be doing more!

    Silky Gomboy Sheath

Thanks Broch. I've got to say it was so enjoyable - I like that there are quite a lot of processes involved, and then something like stitching you can just lose yourself for an hour.
