Alone (UK) TV series. What ten items would you choose?

i think the majority of the shelters were fit for purpose. An overnight fire isnt really required when you've got a massive sleeping bag though....

Alone (UK) TV series. What ten items would you choose?

I'll take the food rations because then I'm not flapping about a calorie source every day. If I catch a fish, that's a days worth of biltong or pemmican I've saved for another day. I could probably just arrive, build a shelter, procure water and then sit next to my fire most of the day, nibbling...

Alone (UK) TV series. What ten items would you choose?

@Broch I don't think I'd waste my time trying to shoot squirrels with a sling shot. I'm not anywhere near as accurate enough. I'd snare them I think... I think they're too small a yield of energy to be worth the effort of hunting them. They're not like the porky buggers seen in town parks in the...

Alone (UK) TV series. What ten items would you choose?

I just finished binge watching it of an evening. I thought it was a good show. I prefer it over the US versionn which I couldn't watch due to (how I thought) the over dramatisation of things. I orefer to watch the highlight bits on YouTube! [emoji1787]. The US version (as mentioned) has...

    Sleeping mat

Alpkit Numo. Cheap enough, lightweight, packs down small, reasonably robust. Can be inflated with an (available separately) stuff sack in about 4 full squeezes. I've had one for about a year now (I think) and used it lots. Plenty fine for 3 seasons. On my last camp in -3 I was totally fine.

How to find a good tattoo studio.

If you want a tattoo, go get one. Bugger what anyone else says. I'm getting a tattoo in January. Been wanting the tattoo for years and years but just never got round to it. My tattoo idea has never changed in all these years, and I do suppose that that's the key thing with permanent art. Once...

    No Spoon Knife Spoon

Why haven't i thought of this before. What a genius way to make a spoon in the field. I'll be doing that the next time I head into the forest for a camp. Thanks!

Alone (UK) TV series. What ten items would you choose?

While I see the benefit of an axe, I can do without it. My pocket knife has a small but bloody good saw on it. For shelter building, I've got the tarp. I'd rig up a small teepee. Small fire inside for warmth if really needed, and a cooking fire outside. Any more of an elaborate shelter would...

    Degrees of variation (from North)

I never use my phone for bearing navigation. I always carry a compass, map for primary navigation. For back up I have a Garmin 401 GPS, and then I have the OS app on my phone.
