Rechargeable EDC Torch (Olight or similar)

Chaps, when I first read the opening post I thought it was asking for recommendations...as have been made, but the post is in the Classified Wanted area, which suggests Bushcraft4life is looking for someone here with a light they want to sell rather than recommendation of what to buy. That...

    Hello everyone

I was sort of hoping to see if the OP replied, before I dropped this link and showed the original post they copied from https://bushcraftuk.com/community/threads/hi-from-dundee.159177/#post-1990100

    Hello everyone

Hello and welcome to our forum. There is a dark humour quote out there; “Some people’s sole purpose in life is to serve as a warning to others.” Today, this is you. You are only here to be an example.

Hello folks - Beginner bow drilling

Broch beat me to it. :cool3: I was going to recommend starter cord. It does not stretch the way Paracord does, you don't want (edited) *much* stretch in this application. It also tends to stay rounder in cross section under load while Paracord tends to flatten, which I think is better for...

Hello folks - Beginner bow drilling

Perhaps I have misunderstood your description. Typically you want the bearing end of the spindle to be thinner and pointier to reduce contact area, and the hearth end to be wider and flatter with only enough of a point so that it stays centred in its spot. While literature often says that soft...

    Hello folks

Hi @CPH and @demented dale et al, I have moved a few posts to: https://bushcraftuk.com/community/threads/hello-folks-beginner-bow-drilling.167378/ Intro threads are great, but when the discussion starts on actual skills it is better to have a properly descriptive title in the relevant...

    Hello folks

Hello and Welcome Chris, If you are able to, it sounds like you might enjoy the Bushmoot. Its a bit of a trek from your part of the country, but no further than I used to have to go when it was held in South Wales. Chris (also :)

How would you fix the Homeless crisis.?

Hi @Woody girl, Saw this piece in a paper. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/cardiff-homelessness-shame-wretched-microcosm-182046490.html?guccounter=1 Aligns some with what you say about homeless vs migrant.

How would you fix the Homeless crisis.?

It is even more interesting if one takes a slightly longer time frame. It fell a long way to 2010, but went up pretty steeply in the late 90s, and has wobbled along at a lower level since. https://www.statista.com/statistics/283993/statutory-homelessness-in-england/

New to bushcrafting-hot tent cot recommendations?

Aye, need to know which tipi you bought. I have three tipis, and a couple of very low cots, and the Thermarest cot, which is the smaller of the two is hard to fit in the medium one with liner, and impossible in the small with liner. It isn’t just footprint, it is set up or rotational space...

    Modified my Lionsteel M4.

The bolts in the knife shown are Corby Bolts, they are not the same as the things that Lion Steel use to assemble. Lion Steel just bolts together and the female part is a close fit in the tang hole, like a pin. The pictured conversion will be bonded together and ground to shape. The screws...

I was just in mind of that lake in Africa that released a vast gout of CO2 and killed 1750ish people. I recall that CO2 is heavier than air and sink, that it is odourless and at high concentrations causes rapid loss of consciousness.

Hootchie Guylines / What kind of cord is it?

For those that don’t like bright guy lines https://www.ropesdirect.co.uk/black-polyester-cord.html But for those that like the Hoochie cord. Huss Hoochie cord, 8 plait polyester, 650N breaking. No core. 60% the strength of the 2mm 16 plait stuff. 8 plait is grippier that 16 though.
