Where to buy no-see-em type netting ~800 holes/inch

You could always drop Mat a line at UKhammocks too. His self made woodsman range are specifically midge proof. He 'may' have some to sell.

Oysterleaf - Sea Lungwort - Mertensia maritima

Well, I was introduced to this non native (extreme northwards) plant last week and its a very odd thing. As the name suggests, it has the texture of Sea Aster, but tastes identical to fresh oysters. Not similar, indentical :p Anyone else tried it, or even found some locally?

    Stretch side hammock mod

The knotty mod? Not as yet, but I'm considering it for an ultra light day hammock. I realize it will add a few grams but its worth it. Atb, al.

A food safe glue that burns safely?

What size do the tablets have to be out of curiosity. You have silicone ice cube trays right up to muffin. How about old school flour and water glue? Make solution, fill silicone with kitty sprinkles, add glue, leave for while.

    King Alfred Cakes

Thanks for the reply stuey! My main interest was the concentric rings. Would they be anual, or bi-anual (or even possibly just from the right conditions, several times a year) I'm just really interested in the growth rate, and information is very limited. Would your friend possibly know...

    Your picture of the day...

You have the perfect starter set, as most of us did at one stage :) Have fun using it.

    Les Stroud Bushman Axe

Kind-of a cross between a tomahawk and Gb's outdoor axe. It looks interesting but two things put me off. The square (un-natural) shape of the poll and the price. It seems everyone wants stupid money for an axe these days. £50-60. Fair enough.

    Which Hammock is best

The simple way to think about them is- End gathered. Traditional style hammocks and normally fairly cheap (or affordable) that are fairly comfy. I say fairly because they make good day to day hammocks but 'some' users can suffer something called knee lock over night. Its where the stress...

    Which Hammock is best

Yup, it can be an addictive. I was considering the Woodsman X as an uber light summer hammock (not that its not a very capable all seasons) but I'm waiting until the BB double 1.1 comes back in stock for a project. Wait until you start getting into SRL's, ARL's, SLS, UCR's, Fixed brummels...

    Harvesting birch sap - advice?

Here's a good tutorial, with someone using a sensible bit size. The most important thing is to make sure you have sealed the would once finished. I go back after a few hours to check as even a well sealed bore hole can start weeping quite heavily. Keep an eye on the tree's March time, start...
