Advice needed - monocular or binoculars?

That sounds like a fault, probably in the alignment, it should be fixeable if they weren't always like that. With good bins you should always be able to use both eyes, after all that's the point. I got a (backup) set of the Lidl's cheapies and have exactly the same problem with them as you...

    Evenin' all

Excellent! I'm not a native either, although I'm starting to say stuff like ych-y-fi and cwch. when I go home folk think I sound welsh too!. Lots of bushcrafting opportunities up on the hills between the Garw/Llynfi, if you can dodge the kids racing cars round the forestry roads. Have a look in...

    Paypal address forwarding

When making a payment you have to select whether what you're paying for is "Service/other" "Goods" or "eBay Items". If you select "Service/other" it doesn't send your postal address so I wonder whether that's what has happened.

    organised?

Cargo pants come in to their own on days out, usually end up with the pockets stuffed with finds... A good tip is to empty them regularly though :yikes: Cord and duct tape in back left hand pocket in all my playing out trousers. I've missed some good photos by having the camera stowed away...

    Posting Pictures Problem

Yup, for all three posts! However you need to be careful with the size of the image, too big, and it makes the page wider than most people's screens/browsers. I usually make my pics as thumbnails so people can click them to get to the bigger pic if they want.

    Minor Burn Treatment

Was it stuff that Mors had brought with him? Balsam fir is not a common tree in the UK, it's not mentioned in my Collins field guide and Plants for a future says it grows best (for the uk) in Perthshire so I'd be pleasantly surprised if it or an equivalent grows at Methyr Mawr.

    Posting Pictures Problem

I think the "Text to be formatted" has to relate to the url of a picture already hosted on the net. AFAIK you can't link to an image on your own computer. Most people who show pics in their posts will use a picture hosting site, imageshack.us is the one I use but I won't make any claims about...

What sort of nutter are you?

I'm an INTP too, but perhaps the poll tells us more about the kind of people who use the net, to discuss/read about bushcraft and then want to take part in polls ;)

    Wood Burner vs. Barbecue

I've got a chiminea, and yes you can use charcoal, and cook in it like a barbie... although that depends on the size of the chiminea. However you need to remember that a wood fire can create a lot more smoke than a barbie so think of the effect on your neighbours when you make your choice.

    Alexanders

Had a great few days out near St Davids in Pembrokeshire. Lots of Alexanders growing on the roadside hedgebanks but didn't pick any because of the likely pollution. The tall, flowering plants were easy to identify, were the low spreading plants with similar leaves and smell the first year...

Which came first - flint or wood?

I have this image in my head of one of our ancestors knocking a bit of flint with a stone and getting a burn on the legs from the spark... the stone of course containing iron pyrites... but then I don't know what would have come first... making flint tools or making fire?

    TARP or TENT?

It's up to you on this one I think, you're the only one who knows how comfortable you'll feel. If it was simply the case of which is better, tarp or tent then you'd get lots of answers, but in the specific social context you can be the only judge of how much privacy you need. You must have...
