What is too cold for a first visit?
I live in Bodø and we currently have 13 degrees and light overcast (it has been a **** summer). In september/october we may have the same temperature, or it could be below zero.
I guess it is the about the same weather pattern on the north west coast too (a...
A very nice kuksa indeed.
The handle is really superb.
I`ve had sort of the same idea, but then with a kuksa shaped like a leaf.
Haven`t tried the idea out yet, though.
Gratulerer med dagen, Gary
Be careful with the ale and mead. As it is said in Hávamál
Inkje so godt
som godt dei segjer
er øl for manna-ætt.
Di meir du drikk,

One could easily remove the frame from this ruck. It is fastened by two studs in the bottom (one on each side) and with the shoulder straps at the top.
Only problem is; you have to improvise a carrying system as the shoulder straps are attached to the frame and not the sack.
I would however...
I have several of them. They are very comfortable and I wear them all year around.
Someone said it was like wearing a towel, and it is. A wet "norgie" is useless as insulation and very heavy.
There are lots of better shirts for outdoors use than the "norgie". Even the norwegian army has come to...
No, you will not be taxed.
But you will not get it trough the security. You have to put it in your cheched luggage.
The bag from the duty free shop has a "time limit". If you buy a bottle tax free you have a period of 36 hours (from when you purchased the bottle) were you could take it trough...
Similar stones are found in Norway too. Called belt stones. Archeologists suggest these were used with an "ildtein" (don`t know the english word), but you could see some reproductions below.
These stones were used in early iron age.
Actually snowmobiles are not banned (don`t know where you got this from). But their use have "always" (law from 1978) been heavily restricted.
You are only allowed to drive at specific trails like in Sweden (if not at work). There are however much less of these trails here than in Sweden.
Not a real winter here either.
We had 30-40 cm of snow in the beginning of January, but a week of rain took care of that.
It`s about 10-15 cm snow left, hard and icey.
Temperature have been steady though, about -5 degrees celsius since the rainfall.
I don`t watch norwegian films very often. IMO it is mostly "social realistic" cr*p with no entertainment value.
But a few tiltles comes to mind; Orions belte, Blucher and Insomnia.
