Similar stones are found in Norway too. Called belt stones. Archeologists suggest these were used with an "ildtein" (don`t know the english word), but you could see some reproductions below. These stones were used in early iron age.

Even though we have the "allemannsretten" we are not alowed to walk trough someones garden with or without a canoe.

Actually snowmobiles are not banned (don`t know where you got this from). But their use have "always" (law from 1978) been heavily restricted. You are only allowed to drive at specific trails like in Sweden (if not at work). There are however much less of these trails here than in Sweden.

Not a real winter here either. We had 30-40 cm of snow in the beginning of January, but a week of rain took care of that. It`s about 10-15 cm snow left, hard and icey. Temperature have been steady though, about -5 degrees celsius since the rainfall.

I don`t watch norwegian films very often. IMO it is mostly "social realistic" cr*p with no entertainment value. But a few tiltles comes to mind; Orions belte, Blucher and Insomnia.
