    Wanted- crossbow bolt or Arrow

Did a “run onto a javelin” type injury at a training day years ago. One group opted to saw at it with a leatherman.

Yep, tiny nail head with who knows how long a nail embedded-nasty!

    Wanted- crossbow bolt or Arrow

I get that, and though rare crossbow attacks do happen, so we train for them. The complexity with an arrow/bolt is that you can’t see the head which is going the damage whereas most knives and screwdrivers are pretty straight

    Wanted- crossbow bolt or Arrow

Yes, I just wanted some genuine parts at least to give a bit of realism. I have scissors (blades glued for safety) and knife handles but an arrow will offer a different challenge for the students

Woggle aka a big bead/lanyard bead

That’s really smart. I suppose a design could be carved in the bark as well? Thinking out loud for a kids summer activity

    Wanted- crossbow bolt or Arrow

Evening all, I am looking for a single crossbow bolt or arrow, this is for use as an embedded object in first aid training (will be pushed into a rolled up yoga mat simulating a limb) Happy with some light damage, slight bend etc but would like some fletching intact so it’s identifiable as...

What is an every day carry really when you get down to it?

Isn’t EDC just a marketing term? Similar to the term Tactical? If I want a pen to carry in my pocket I can search “EDC pen” and get more specific results?

    Ticks

As above, Tom O’twister tick tool in my small first aid kit. Only had two in my life, both in Fr, belt line each time. They both appeared to be dead though which I maybe should be concerned about! Dogs used to get loads

What is an every day carry really when you get down to it?

My consistent EDC is my house key with a leatherman micra on it, wallet, phone and pen. if I’m rural I’ll have my penknife and a small pouch with a few plasters, compeed and a maglite solitaire, if I remember it. My work bag is far more comprehensive, a result of being caught out a few...

    Crossbow ban consultation

Probably not a popular post on here but here goes. To harm someone requires motive and means. You could kill someone with a brick, a bottle, a kitchen knife or your bare hands - BUT it takes some doing, it’s a physical act that even the hardest soldiers can struggle with. A crossbow is a...

    Crossbow ban consultation

It does look that way. The powers that be seem to favour a similar approach to shotgun legislation, but time will tell

Utility Knives and Multitools – Are they Legal for Camping?

In the video he mentions a recent case where the court deemed the length from the handle to be deemed to be the key length, This could be the case law we were waiting for. CPS have always held this stance too

Wood burning smell from the firepit in the garden

I live in an outer London borough with neighbours on all sides. In fine weather BBQs are pretty commonplace most nights, although I suspect many are using gas so less smoke. There is someone still using a coal fire which brings a pleasant nostalgia to the area. Nobody seems to mind the odd...

Utility Knives and Multitools – Are they Legal for Camping?

Is removing the handle easy or common? A pair of scissors is basically two fixed blades if you take them apart
