3" blade, flat grind, fixed blade

I’m kind of in the same boat myself for a compact 3” ish bladed knife that could fit straight in the pocket. My old Esee Izula 2 was great, I’d highly recommend one of those first and foremost. I foolishly traded mine a few years ago. Never regretted passing on a knife before but did with the...

    Advice on an EDC

I shared your concern at first with the back spring as it was lighter than I expected, but the jimping at the base of the blade catches the index finger before the cutting edge comes down. It’s not quite as secure as having a proper choil but it does work. Just means I have to switch on a bit...

    Advice on an EDC

For the last 2 weeks or so I’ve been using a Real steel Luna as my EDC, the Hennie Haynes red G-10 / D2 version. Long story short I’m hugely impressed with it, it’s the kind of knife you wouldn’t feel short-changed paying double the £30 asking price. Well worth checking out.

    Today's walk

I know how you must feel. Almost every day when the weather has been nice, I’ve had clear away pop bottles and cans and glass alcohol bottles, plus all other assorted rubbish including foil bbqs from along the brook where I walk the dog. Teenagers gather there, get drunk, chase and throw stones...

One Knife and 6 Months In The Wild - What is your choice?

No never. The Tracker, although not my kind of tool probably does have its uses. My post was more of a light hearted dig at the Hollywood film hunted.

One Knife and 6 Months In The Wild - What is your choice?

No you were correct when you said The Tom brown tracker. This is because not only can you throw this knife without it spinning but when it hits a tree, the blade will pierce all the way through the trunk and come out through the other side. But not only that, it will leave a huge hole that is...

    Mini-skrama mini project

Thanks everyone. :) Its a handy size knife that fits in a lot of cutting edge, and it strops to a really sharp edge too. I can pocket carry it, courtesy of a cheap-torch sheath but it’s a bit naff. I was hoping to pick up a mini-Skrama sheath from varusteleka with my next order, but it looks...

    Mini-skrama mini project

Thanks Rich, it got there eventually. I was thinking of using hornbeam for the scales but that required more work. Orange G10 would be nice I reckon.

    Mini-skrama mini project

I finally got around to handling my mini-skarma blade that’s been sat around for years. I have ground the spine of the blade to change the profile slightly, and the ground the handle’s choil and palm swell to allow a bit more space for all four fingers. Scales were salvaged from old oak floor...

    Hardwood catapult handles

I’m just trying gauge whether there would be any interest in selling my handles/ “Y” frames for catapults that I’ve accumulated from tree cutting jobs over the years. I have 6 just gathering dust in the garage. Various hardwoods, a small degree of difference in size. Will get some pics if any...
