    Affordable first full-tang knife?

I agree; the Bushlore ticks all those boxes (and I've had one for a few years).

Sicut. Something not quite the norm

Very nice one as usual from Mr. B. Any more info about how it was used Sam?

    Tarp cordage.

And a first rate thread that is too Mr. C. I've been using that modified trucker's hitch ever since I went to one of your demos at a Bushmoot a while back. Much better IMO.

John Ridgway TV series or Documentary?

Well I wasn't one of the yuppies in the programme, but I did spend a very enjoyable fortnight up at Ardmore with John Ridgeway back in '82 or thereabouts. Brilliant experience!

Why am I carrying........ The Sequel.

Going back to Wayland's original question ("How many of us have actually found a real use for any of the other stuff that is marketed to us as "EDC"?"); my answer is: well, not me! For me, the E in EDC refers to my normal life and so EDC kit means regular, everyday stuff. That includes my...

Why am I carrying........ The Sequel.

Mind you I remember a lecture by a few regiment blokes years ago when I was in the TA, and they were advocating all the Survival Aids gubbins of the time, inc. the wire saws hidden in jackets, those plastic survival cards etc. etc. They may well have been TA SAS , and I appreciate that may...

Just breathing a bit of life into this old thread - mainly because I've been playing with this new little combo. This is Goldenberg take-down hatchet / tomahawk, a Condor Kephart and a Rough Rider trapper. All relatively cheap and cheerful but pretty decent nevertheless.

    February wildcamp: A lesson learnt...

Sounds like a good little adventure to me - and a cheeky mid-weeker to boot -always a bonus! Thanks for posting.

Going out in the rain, best way to setup a rain shelter?

Good advice from Wander there. A slightly quicker option is to use bungees rather than guylines.

Good information - thanks. This video might also be of interest. It talks about the 112 number, calls to which I believe go to the same place. Worth watching I think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPZv_8dABfU

    Dremel's

I can only speak from my own experience of owning a Lidl cheapo version. I've found it to be very useful indeed with my amateurish leatherwork - but then I only paid 30-odd quid for it.
