    Any Finnish speakers ?

We should go back to a more Germanic form of English. It would save having to pronounce things differently to how they are spelt, and we wouldn't have to bother using 'th' all the blooming time (we could re-introduce ð)... I'm sure it would help people with dyslexia somewhat?

    Recommendation - Sámi stuff

Proper 'Bushcraft'. In every sense of the word. Sami crafts always blow me away how beautiful they are. Why would anyone waste hundreds of pounds on a 'bushcraft' knife when you could have a work of art such as these pukko knives? amazing! I'd better start saving.

    Any Finnish speakers ?

In the U.K. They tell children "if Germany had won the war, we'd all be speaking german". This, is of course complete nonsense. I like to remind people that "the allies won the war, and forced the rest of the world to learn English!" How silly.

    First camp of the year.

Good stuff. I'd love to get back over for a meet. I may try and convince some north wood people to do a site visit this year. I love the total silence you get in Suffolk as opposed to the endless traffic noise in the midlands... And the lack of light pollution. A Daniel Boone meet perhaps?

    Wanted: Swiss trangia

This is very interesting... I'm looking for an Optimus version of a trangia meths/fuel burner. I haven't been able to locate any information pictures etc. I understand the new soldier cook kit for the Swedish army has one as part of the Optimus stove and accessories, as issued to troops.

    The perfect camp chair?

Fishing chairs every day of the week! I got a Dunlop one from argos really cheap. It's a great bit of kit! And even better with a reindeer hide on it. Only downside was a lack of a drink holder, although when its low to the ground (has adjustable legs)... you can just put drinks on the ground !

    New Fjallraven shop in Manchester

Overpriced crap. I’ve got a nice baseball cap from them, that’ll do me! If it was made in Sweden I wouldn’t mind paying the prices.

    Looking for a Lukkha pattern

Hi all... I'm looking for a pattern to make a Lukkha. I know Twodogs used to make them, however I understand he is no longer making. I'm pretty sure I have enough material. And there is no way on earth I would consider a fjallraven one! Does anyone have a link or can you help? Jimbo75..

Where's the north wood regulars sub forum gone?

Hi Bodge, All I get is a Tapatalk version of BCUK? To be honest, I was only curious as to what sales and swaps people were bringing?

North Wood LEE BENNETT Meet 22~24 February 2019

Hi guys, I'm hoping to get there reasonably early on Friday. What time are people getting there? And which pitch are we on?

    Has the bubble burst?

Agreed. They are very 'look what I just bought'. I cringe when they have something shined and new, and no idea how to use it! Not saying I'm an expert (because I'm not), but I didn't learn anything 'Bushcraft' through ordering things off Amazon...

    Has the bubble burst?

YouTube bushcraft is also suffering a death by strangulation of its own. There are only a few select channels I now consider worth a look. I won't get into the whole making a list nonsense, but it definitely needs a cull. I think it's nice to be able to appreciate real outdoor skills as an 'old...
