Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Hey folks,
Some of you may be interested in a wee Scottish reenactors market this weekend, even if living history ain't your thing it will still be a good place to pick up fabrics and other bits.
I'll still have plenty of bushcraft stuff for sale alongside my living history stuff (as there is...
done mate. Interesting wood choices, as some may be more difficult to source for mass production than others.
I'd find it difficult to come up with a new mora knife that stands above their already wide range, though it looks like over previous years they have been stepping up to mora higher...
Thanks for the reply lots of good information on there. It's the collar idea im thinking of going for as will be simplest for me. putting in new wall would be a bit much for me i reckon
as to the flue outside, my workshop is on a farm with plenty of open space around it so i should be fine on...
Because the flues mate in a particular way, it's not possible to just switch the adapter round as the fittings would be the opposite way round.
But your way of making a liner in the ewall is what i'm thinking aye :)
i was commissioned to make a sheepskin sleeping bag last year, but i ended up talking the client out of it as it didnt seem practical when considering the ultimate weight and bulk of it, and the issues if it does get wet etc.
Some reindeer/sheepskin and then a couple of wool blankets works a...
Aye I thought that, but got to gey a connecting collar to go between the single wall up to the twin wall, and don't think it works the other way to go twin wall up to single wall again as nobody is as daft as me, so would have to go twin all the way up which looks like I may have to just bite...
Winter is here, and I'm freezing my dreads off.
I've got my hands on this nice wee wood burner and a few lengths of single wall flue. I could do with some advice on the fitting. I need to buy a couple of extra bits but can't afford much so trying to work out what I need bare minimum.
Hearth...
Welcome back.
There's not a huge amount of decent paddling lochs near the border, you really have to travel an extra few hours to get anywhere decent. Loch Etive is a stunning one, but may be a bit too heavy on your first outing at it. I'm sure those with more paddling knowledge will have...
i've got a paperwhite, very handy. easy to transfer stuff to (treat it like s USB stick drive) and screen brightness is easily adjustable which i like as i often like having no backlight at all, but it comes in handy if camping on on a night train etc.
I still can't believe it, was completely shocked over both the news and the circumstances. When i first met Lee, he told me as craftsmen we had to help each other and it's always stuck with me, his kindness. He was always ready with advice and a kind word here and there. What a tragic loss
Just finished this satchel and thought it was rather bushcrafty.
Custom made for a local lassie that's about to set sail for Australia and wanted to take the trees of Scotland with her.
Tooled with oak, juniper, birch, yew, and Scots pine [emoji4]
