    Bow Question. Ask the audience

You are bang on with, make the most of what you have, I have a long bow, one of the first I made and it’s to heavy for me to use now (getting old, ha ha) so I adapt and made a less heavy bow. As long as it’s fun and enjoyable regardless to what style then make the most of it. On the note of...

    Bow Question. Ask the audience

I do, made several long bows over the years along with the arrows, being in Norfolk and friends who rear turkeys for Xmas, no shortage of feathers for fletchings. The few things I buy are points, knocks and serving string, the rest I make myself. Been twanging a bow properly since 1972 at...

    Bow Question. Ask the audience

The strings are not expensive and would make a nice bow to go roving, you maybe able to adjust the poundage. I had a compound which was tuned down to 35lbs with the cams was so light to shoot, regret giving it to my brother!

    Bow Question. Ask the audience

You could contact a local club or retailer and have a new string fitted onto the cams, a bit of googlefu would help there. Not sure where you live to help, seem a hot place from the description!

    Filofaxes

Got my Filofax in 1986, in a Xmas raffle prize and used it till I retired. Made my own note pad stationary, work paid for my yearly diary insert and never replaced the telephone numbers, just added and became quite the font of knowledge and rather full. Still have it in a draw at home, not in...

    What Three Words

First time I used it was in Northumbria visiting friends, having been out all day returning in the dead of night, in the middle of nowhere, came across an upturned Astra in the road. The occupants were only slightly injured and none of us had a clue where we were! Called emergency services, said...

    Haversack/Day bag

Osprey shoulder bag is excellent, full loaded its comfortable, use mine a lot on the bike as it has a body strap to keep it on your back. Plenty of space and a padded pocket for lap top if you need to carry one, nice wide shoulder pad with a grip side to stop sliding.

    Modern day Billhook

Bought a bill hook at a car boot for 50p, needed a new handle, so I used a broken lump hammer handle to replace, that was almost 30 years ago, it’s the best I own and sharpest!

    Extendable pruning saw suggestion

I’ll have to totally agree with the wolf, used mine for years and still going strong, bought two handles, one is telescopic to 3.5 m and a 1.5m fixed and they cover both my needs and will cut 5 to 6 inch thick branch with ease and a lot safer than a chain saw and no need for a ladder! The saw...
