Best current rugged phones for outdoors use - what's your opinion?

Most phones are ip rated in the mid- high range. It's the battery life that let's most smart phones down, unless you look at a dumb phone (Nokia 800 brick for example). I looked at them for quite some time, and came to the conclusion my samsung note in a rugged case suited merthyr than having...

    Voymir airgun pellets

Not sure, check out the thread on agf, used different couriers, yet nothing has arrived to anyone yet. Was just a heads up to anyone on here who spotted the deal on the website or Ebay and decided to jump on it, they might not arrive. Mine haven't, and there's not one person on agf who's...

    Voymir airgun pellets

Yeah there's a few on agf with issues, iv also noticed the ebay shop is offering a 20% off, and has recently had some negative feedback from people expecting them within a few days and having nothing. I know some who have been waiting since Dec 3rd, myself since the 17th. If they turn up by...

Preparing for troubled times ahead - Advice on what is needed.....

No snow here, but a 2 day layer of frost is still present, so would say its on its way. Have some elderly neighbours, and have gone out and given them my mobile number in case they need or want anything, and explained I'll be doing a shop on a Thursday if they want anything picked up, but able...

    Getting wet in Winter

I like to carry a spare set of clothing in a dry bag just in case I'm soaked, but its usually more sweat inside than wet if I wear the right things and don't go out in a storm. Merino base layer with a regular shirt on top helps. My issues are head and hands- finding something I can wear to...

Preparing for troubled times ahead - Advice on what is needed.....

Saw that one a while back, very interesting. I have seen a few videos with the heater being on full blast and using only a litre of fuel and lasting a few hours, so looks ideal for a living space/shed as well as a vehicle. Not sure on what the power consumption is (still needs electricity) but...

    Pigs!

There were already goats and lambs on the farm, so I was looking at diversity and pigs, but things have since changed. The farm has been sold and is now a vehicle dismantlers so until I can either find another spot of land or buy my own its all on hold for now sadly.

    New wellies advice

The other half has tried both the hunters and muck boots and she prefers the muckboots with the neoprene upper. I can drive fine in mine (she doesn't drive) but I'm used to driving in steelies/riggers where some people may struggle. They are a little cheaper and maybe worth a look at?

Preparing for troubled times ahead - Advice on what is needed.....

Did the very same here, taken a while to get the stock cupboard back to what it was, and now I'm thinking of adding at least 2 thirds more in at the current prices now they are climbing steadily. I wouldnt like to think of what kind of position many of us would of been in without doing so. I...

Preparing for troubled times ahead - Advice on what is needed.....

Unfortunately, again an example I'm afraid to hear of- but ultimately the impacts of this have been highlighted quite recently in the media. Rising cases of damp and mould on the horizon? Black lung? It's such a situation that for one of the wealthiest countries to be in. I'm not sure what...

Preparing for troubled times ahead - Advice on what is needed.....

Some eu countries have advised citizens to prepare for power outages and food shortages, with the advice to keep a few days/weeks supply. Apparently the UK population has reduced its energy consumption since October by 10% (due to rising costs). With more people falling behind on payments, and...

    Solar powered generators

There's a few ways to look at it really for what you want. If it's just for a one off scenario then they can be costly, but if used frequently they can be a god send. Maybe take a look at petrol generators? Cheap enough and reasonable power (800w -3000w) if the electricity goes off. If you do...

    Solar powered generators

Use a jackery, ecoflow and poweroak, all have there uses. In my experience the smaller ones are great for electronics, but when you plug appliances in that's where the limits come in. The batteries with a lower capacity wont power for long. The smallest jackery is 240wh with a 200w surge and 400...

    Biggest Life Lesson

Nothing is ever as bad as it seems. All the mistakes iv made, I have got over. It's seemed like the end of the world at the time, but it really isn't. More importantly I'm understanding that everyone looked upto someone at something at somepoint, and to try and hold myself to a standard...

Where do we come from - What are our backgrounds?

Bear did bring a lot of interest to it. Although I'd rather Ray's approach where its comfortable and crafty.
