    Installing a woodstove in Scotland?

Per Scottish Building Standards In Scotland you wil need a warrant. Contact your local planning department and ask to speak to the duty planning officer for advise. I’m guessing you’ll need it signed off by a HETAS engineer to satisfy the warrant

    Planning UK Walking Adventure Ideas

Forget the WHW and just get up to the west coast to avoid the people/hikers. Walk close to the coast and the midges will be ney bother. May is normally a good month for weather. Coastal foraging and camping. Clean water easily purifyed to use. There’s often little clumps of woodland about to...

    Awesome youtube channels

Bushcraft - a lot that’s been said. Recently been catching up on TA Outdoors. I also like ‘Simon, a bloke in the woods’. Non bushcraft - wood by Wright, Jimmy Diresta et al.

    frost river

Hi Terry. Nobody has replied so I thought I might chip in. I was looking at the FR website and online brochure. They show a basket in use as a liner which also firms up the pack. Could be useful for other things too? HTH. Regards, Richard

Does anyone use work trousers for Bushcraft?

Snickers floor layers trousers and floor layers pads for me (for work). Brilliant and normally take me 2 years to wear them out at work and on the croft

    Internal v External frame packs

I’ve been thinking of that one too. That and the Savotta modular. I guess the price is stopping me so far. There was an American review on YouTube I watched about that bergan. Does look good. Please let us know what you think of it when it arrives?

The Bushcraft Journal Magazine - Now FREE!

Just come across this thread. I’ve purchased some previous editions and always thought it the best magazine of its type. Well worth the money and now even more so given that’s it’s free. I really hope it continues to thrive as it’s a great read. Many thanks to the editor...

The End of Internet Knife Sales. Law change could target one-hand opening folders

With all this debating about P.O. and RM I thought that I’d recount my experiences over the last year. In that period I’ve purchased around 8 knives, sold a few on and bought an axe (don’t tell the better half ;) ). This included a Mora from Amazon and an axe from Woodlore/Ray Mears. The...

    Internal v External frame packs

As the threads gone so far off subject I’ll pitch in. Tasmanian Tiger sell a pack frame unit only. It has a bottom shelf for carrying. It’s called the TT load carrier, product code 7635. Looks good but no idea on price.

    Be careful!

We get high winds up in the north west all the time; you’ll not see us flapping. It’s been breezy today but really warm too. No doubt it will all blow over!?
