    Barbour alternative

Have a look on Vinted if yo are considering a Barbour. Barbour jackets can often be had cheaply. I bought one recently in immaculate condition for £20 and it just needed to be re-waxed.

Services offered Bespoke Wool Shirts and Smocks

Hi. Would you consider modding 2 SwandriBush shirts. The DW and I hate that they have no front pockets/kangaroo pockets. Maybe some reinforcement also in places? Something akin to you photo Ts above?

    Red light head torch

Mainly the horses, 5 of them. The bright white of an LED head torch is a bit too shocking to them. Also the wife keeps blinding me with her torch!

    Red light head torch

Its non LED and I think there are modern, brighter options now.

    Red light head torch

Hi all and a happy new year. Please could somebody recommend a head torch with good red light colour output. I’ve a very old (about 20 years) petzl that I’d like to retire and upgrade. Our animals object to the white light of a normal head torch but don’t with the red filter/light. Many...

Another what to use the wood for question!

'We' (tree surgeon) just cut down 7 Leylandi trees for us. The rounds are full of sticky sap and will take a long time to dry out. We will ultimately burn them on an open fire or the wood burning stove down at our cabin. We've left some rounds long to chainsaw some furniture out of. The longer...

    Pigs!

Pigs are great for the table and dont have to be hard work. A good electric fence will keep them in and they clear the ground completely. For a simple house use a domestic oil tank and cut a hole in it, else look at recycled plastic units for the likes of Solway. Have the local abattoir dispatch...

Renting a cabin - anyone done it?

Thanks for that. I already have plenty of battery tools for cleaning so ‘mucking out‘ between guests isn’t a problem. Happy to clean as that’s how I’d want it and to be honest we use ourselves so wouldn’t want it turning into a dump. id rather it stays off grid though I might need a wee bit of...
