    G10 fibre glass sheet A5

I'm thinking 2mm or 3mm. Not too fussed on the colour. I'm basically gonna try my hand at making a book mark first. See what it's like to work with. So a book mark will need cutting, corners put on it, maybe a hole drilled through for a cord, sanding, that kind of thing.

    G10 fibre glass sheet A5

Does anyone know where I can find a sheet of G10 fibre glass? I only want a single sheet of about A5 or A4 for a little handicraft project over summer. All I can find on the Web are companies who mass produce [emoji25]

    Lightweight cook setup

I have a Lixada 550ml cup with a lid. Well worth it, and it was about £20 IRRC. I only boil water in it. My stove is the BRS3000-T UL stove. That was less than £20 off Amazon. Also got a cheapo folding stand for the gas can, less than £6 off Amazon. So the full set up for less than £50...

    Hammock camp and fishing

On the spur of the moment, I decided to go fishing. And then on the next spur of the next moment, I decided that I may as well include an overnight camp into the bargain.... I went into the garage and put together a light kit. Due to the warm weather, I concluded that a hammock, tarp, poncho...

    Sleeping Mat Repair

I used the glue and patches that came with my Alpkit Numo mat to repair a small hole. I did use soft sanding paper to slightly roughen the area around the hole and on the repair patch itself. Before sticking the patch on I allowed the glue to cure for 15 min as well. I used enough glue so when I...

    YOYTi. (Why titanium?)

Ti isn't that expensive. I got a 550ml Ti mug for £19 and it came with a free folding Ti spoon. It's horses for courses isn't it?

    Castles Camp overnight

The taste of it was good, but it just didn't rehydrate properly. Happened twice now with the Firepot brand. I followed instructions, stirred, and even left it for way over the time recommended. Oh, well. I'll search for another brand. I've had a different brand before and it was great. Just...

    Castles Camp overnight

I've not been out overnight for over a month, and the last time I did, I lost my car key. Thank god my car key is carried separately from my house and work keys! So I was hoping this trip would be better, and it was so....... I'd been eyeing up a secluded spot in the Peak District for a while...

Are GPS units really necessary these days?

Ah the traditional ways.... the feel of the map..... the pleasure of the compass and reliance in one's own skills. I get it. I really do. There is a certain je ne ce qoi about keeping to the old ways. But time and tech move on. Do u drive a car? Surely you long for the old ways of the horse? Do...

Are GPS units really necessary these days?

Each their own! In a previous life, I've been the lead nav many times. I planned the route from A to B and back again. During the 'walk' I had the luxury of having many nav aids available.... wrist mounted GPS, wrist mounted GRG with colour printed map of route, button compass, lazer direction...

Are GPS units really necessary these days?

Garmin 401 is wrist mounted. Not big at all. But then again, I also have an InReach mini. Can send messages on that, so it not only serves as a navigation device, it's also a comms device, which doesn't require phone signal. Very handy.

When you say camping, do you mean on a serviced camp site? Or at the top Kinder Scout in an ultralight tent? [emoji848]
