Omg! Looks like they did a good wrapping job!
FWIW I just got two of these: https://rhinorescue.co.uk/products/wound-closure-kit
One for the car/camping and one for the house.
Hope you're OK.
I'm a bit (small 'b') of a dab hand with a needle and thread. Has anyone got a template or YT link for hand sewing a wool blanket smock/bush shirt......?
A low profile pouch is a good idea. As you say, in more recent conflicts (2005 onwards) MOLLE really came into being. And in the beginning there were pouches. Loads of em! PLCE webbing became obsolete almost overnight.
But I don't live in that world anymore. I do like a smock though.......[emoji38]
Chances are, in a real situation I would of also had my belt kit. I never went anywhere without my belt kit! No matter what. I never understood why guys would think it's a good idea to remove your ammunition from the very thing designed to carry it and put it in a smock, which most definitely...
More than a few moons ago I learnt what to put in my smock pockets to aid in surviving behind enemy lines. Twas an interesting bit of training. Here's what was seen as essential (I still have the notes) and how I carried it:
Left Inside pocket:
Foldable water bottle 1ltr
Puri-tabs

Thanks for taking the time to do that! I genuinely appreciate it. I would never have thought of using double sided tape. I've got some clamps somewhere I'll have to dig them out!
I'll deffo give it another go in the week.
[emoji38]I can almost hear the disgust in your voice! [emoji1787]
So....... I used hacksaw blades. I suppose that 'bending' was the wrong word to use. I meant 'twisting' ie: the blade twists in use so it's not cutting straight. And glass cutter? Yes, the little glaziers tool for scoring glass...
Update......
I've buggered it up. I only have hand tools and while the carbon saw blades eat through the G10 easily enough, they bend and I can't seem to saw it straight! I tried a glass cutter but either I'm not being heavy-handed enough or the G10 is too slippery, so........
Would anyone...
Thin bungee cord loops on the corners of a tarp, with a doubled length of knotted bank line creates a simple but very effective tensioning system. Added bonus of being able to stow the wrapped bank line in the bungee cord when packing away.
G10 sheet has arrived! [emoji2957].
I've seen on t'interwebs that carbide tipped large toothed saw blades work a treat. Anyone recommend a handsaw that's carbide tipped for G10? [emoji1696]
Thatlnks for all your input. I've gone and got a single sheet of it to work on.
I heed the warning about the dust, blunting of tools, skin irritation and the like.
I'll only be using hand tools. I'll wear a mask and do it in the back garden in the fresh air. Does anyone have any hints or tips...
