    Crossbow ban consultation

Not automatically, no. But the chances of NI not following suit are negligible. TBH I'm very surprised they've never been subject to control here given that a 12 ft/lb air rifle is an on ticket item.

Bushcraft tools that could be classed as weapons?

By the court and yes, applicable to "the times". That is how policing by consent functions and believe it or not, nine hundred ninety-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine people out of a million here like it. More or less.

Bushcraft tools that could be classed as weapons?

What if the beforehand is always "you can't"? The concept of "reasonableness" and "Good cause" allows for flexibility of action which would, in the UK, otherwise likely be denied.

    Wanted Glock field knife

I do have one somewhere, but with me that involves a fair bit of scope and I haven't seen it in years, it has a has sandy coloured plastics and is a sawback. I'll have a look, but I wouldn't be too optimistic.

Interesting article about wolves in Europe

Anecdotally, I've spoken to French farmers and French country dwellers in general who say they will destroy wolves wherever and whenever encountered, regardless of the animal's behaviour.

    Irrational attachment to inanimate objects

My early Leatherman Charge purchased for me by my late grandfather after he somehow managed to destroy my Wave, we don't know what he did with it, he didn't know what he did with it (alzheimer's) but almost every blade/tool was broken, must have been some sort of prying thing. Anyway... He...

    The best Kukri knives

I quite like the Churi from KHHI, although if I were getting another I'd take it unpolished.

    Banned dogs - thoughts

No, but it is still a valid metric for risk assessment. A toy breed, no matter how aggressive is unlikely to cause life changing injuries if it does attack. This thread illustrates what an emotive and complex issue this is and the nature of the beast (literally in this case) means that unlike...

Anyone remember wire saws, 40+ years ago, that cut?

Survival Aids offerings worked okay, you weren't going to cut lumber with them but they worked. We used to take (electric) jigsaw blades, wrap an end in tape and sharpen the blunt side. If you were working with small pieces of wood that was better.

    Chicken off the wood mushroom

I've only ever used it once, in a curry. And it could have been taken for chicken.

Government consultation on banning large knives and machetes

There is no conclusion drawn on historic blades. In any case, is a Kris or Khukuri manufactured today "historic"? Edit - for all that, a couple of my FS are modern, and we'll perhaps not get into some of the Ernest Emerson designed pieces. :(

Government consultation on banning large knives and machetes

You may feel differently if sitting on several thousand pounds worth of world tribal and military blades, many if not most of of which were specifically designed as weapons but which you've managed not to cause harm to any human being with for fifty and some years.
