    A Raven Spoon.

The attention to detail is remarkable! Many thanks for sharing.

    New from maker of Sissipuukko.

I asked Peltonen about availability and they said that Lamnia and others will probably have them in stock next week. Apparently, Moonraker have expressed an interest in stocking them but nothing firm yet. Later in the month, you will be able to order them direct from Peltonen - so that's another...

Just when I thought I didn't need another knife...!

Bushcraft tools that could be classed as weapons?

The problem is that, in the wrong hands, pretty much anything can be used as, and so become a weapon. The majority of knives and axes that we use are obvious candidates for such labelling so maybe more time and effort should be spent educating people that, in bushcraft, sharp items are only ever...

    Ladle

That is really lovely. Its flowing curves only add to its elegance.

    Your favourite EDC item?

Except at airports, my Alox Farmer X is always with me. Is it my favourite? No: that goes to my Orford Nomad but since the SAK never leaves my person, it's got to be that.

    Camera or phone? (Poll experiment)

I have a Canon digital camera but, since my smart 'phone is almost always with me, that's the one that gets used most. I suppose I just find it that bit easier and the results are generally pretty good - good enough for me, anyway!

Paul Kirtley Woodlore Instructor knife video

Getting back to his instructors knife, it's reassuring to see him still using it. He has always avoided issues of 'what kit?', almost to a fault, but has still gone on to develop his own - the PK1. I wonder which he prefers: the rare Alan Wood one or his Raven Armoury creation? To my mind...

Paul Kirtley Woodlore Instructor knife video

There's no doubting he's an excellent, thorough instructor and bushcrafter but, when in front of the camera, his delivery is a bit dull and repetitive. Of late, though, he seems to have found some of the necessary performance 'energy', which improves matters significantly.

    25 spoons

What a brilliant challenge, with great results, too! That has inspired me to do something similar, if more modest: I have a 'significant birthday' next year, so I will try and make a number of spoons - one for each year - over the course of the twelve months... Thank you for that spur!

    Small axe

If splitting is your axe's prime function, it is definitely worth thinking about the Roselli axe. It may look odd, but it does the job brilliantly - and does pretty well when felling or trimming things.

    Whats your oldest kit

My oldest bits of kit that I still use are my Zero X axe and Northwall X hammer made by Chouinard - now Black Diamond - back in the 1980s. Although enjoying a bit of 'thwack and dangle' is in the past for me now, the axe always joins me on the hills in winter. On a more bushcrafty note, my...

    Leukus

I think the Roselli appeals because, at 5mm thick, its blade is thicker than most. That and the slightly shorter length make it more appealing for my purposes. I have tried - and own - a parang but I'm not sure about it. It works OK but I think I'd be happier with a straight blade. As for a...

    Leukus

The Roselli Big leuku appeals at the moment. Are there others that are worth a look?
