    Wintermoot 2025

Back home after a nightmare drive through torrential rain and high winds - wipers on double time and floods across roads ... I miss the dry of the Moot! In fact I miss all of the Moot and want to thank all those who help make it happen and all those folk who made this one special! :) I left the...

    Belgian Army Mug

:) Take your mug, put it face down on a bit of MDF, draw round the rim. Cut out the block , take a bit of Alu sheet - I use charity shop bought cheap mess tins - mark out the block on the sheet adding about 1cm all round. Advanced Survival course info.

I have not heard of that one before .... but have you looked at Wilderness Emergency Survival Training on Facebook - a small but very professional survival school in West Wales. Courses are designed around the participants needs - no Stag Do party type "courses"!

    Hand dipped candles

Nice work! I have made the odd beeswax candle, dipped, sand cast and cast in old mince-pie foils often just using cotton string for wicks (not ideal but ok if you loosen the twist in the string a bit) and they do give a lovely light! The only pics I can find are of early rather "rustic" attempts!
