Blotting Paper Slow Match/ ember extender (blotting paper soaked in Saltpeter)
Fire Crane - the swing arm, height adjustable, multi position pot hanger made from the prunings from our Apple trees and sisal baler twine - sized to mt fire pit :)
Project 103
Bits and bobs - Sisal brush (and tinder) and Amadou - inspired by things I saw at the BcUK Winter Moot
The "glue" on the brush is pine resin.
Although I have not tapped Birch trees in years I had always used the Auger method. All the trees are still alive - except two that were crushed by other trees falling during Storm Darragh! I always sealed the holes with corks.
I often use meths from my stove kit to help light my fire pit fire .... especially if I have been sold fire resistant charcoal (as I had just before the Moot! - dampish black dust in a thick plastic bag .."Ignite your Summer" indeed!)
Never petrol or Colman fuel though!
After my experience of the Winter Moot ... I am drinking too much/too long of that which is being passed around the fire!
It is a good thing that I have never ever had a hang over! :)
