Hilleberg Akto & Taking The Pooch

Thanks for the input. Looking at photos of it again, I certainly can see what you are saying about sloping roof at end - which is where the dog would be. She will curl up into a small space, and would rather her be inside tent, than in vertibule area, but maybe the small space of the Akto might...

Hilleberg Akto & Taking The Pooch

Hi Guys I posted a thread some weeks ago about the possibility of using the Nallo 2 GT when out camping with dog. Well I have checked this tent out and feel that it might be too heavy a tent for an overnighter/weekend. Whilst in the store I checked out the weight of the Akto in its packed...

Hilleberg Nallo 2 GT & Suitable Rucksack

Thanks for the input, and information. I think I will now go and check one out. I think you have certainly hit on an important point of when it is raining - and having enough space to get out of wet clothes, and dry down a wet dog. Thanks again.

Hilleberg Nallo 2 GT & Suitable Rucksack

You know how it is brother, checking info/specs etc and then revisiting sites/youtube/reviews to try and make sure that you get it right, as it is a serious wedge to part with. However, I think that it would be a worthwhile investment. I have thought of smaller tents in the lineup.....can I get...

Hilleberg Nallo 2 GT & Suitable Rucksack

Flipping location! ;) That would have been very good of you as would have given me an idea. I really do appreciate the offer. I have been considering other tents, but seem to be drifting back to the Nallo. I really think I have got to make an effort and see it in the flesh. I think this will...

Hilleberg Nallo 2 GT & Suitable Rucksack

I was considering this for wild camping. I have been checking the specs and looking at size of it, and was thinking it is not hugely discreet. However, as I will have the pooch, then I dont think I can get away with something much smaller? Knowing what you know of the Nallo 2GT, and you were in...

Hilleberg Nallo 2 GT & Suitable Rucksack

I think that Centurio with side pockets gets to around 75L, and is probably similar Predator. I did checked out Sabre 60-100 - I do like the padding on this - looks superb! I wonder how this stacks up against Berghaus Vulcan/Atlas.....

Hilleberg Nallo 2 GT & Suitable Rucksack

Thanks for the reply. I take it, it works well with this pack due to "floating" lid? Do you find you can get all in, including sleeping bag for an overnighter, or maybe 2 days?

Hilleberg Nallo 2 GT & Suitable Rucksack

Hi I was looking at potentially purchasing this tent, and was wondering if other members had experience of it? I was also wondering whether this particular tent would fit into say a 45L rucksack e.g. Berghaus Centurio, or would it have to go into something larger eg. 80L +. I like the look...

Berghaus Canvas Rucksack Purchase - Advice On Proofer

Waist Buckle is coming direct from Berghaus. FOC as well. Looks like these have a lifetime guarantee! Great service from Berghaus. Anyhow they dont have the webbing straps x 4 to front of pack - were these for additional 15L pockets to be attached? Any ideas where they could be sourced?

Berghaus Canvas Rucksack Purchase - Advice On Proofer

What do you think of my Cyclops? Any ideas as to specific age - was my approximate ageing of late 70s/early 80s about right?

Berghaus Canvas Rucksack Purchase - Advice On Proofer

Would much prefer the use of a dry bag than cover. I think a good treatment of wax will keep out the majority of bad weather, with the dry bag keeping all kit totally dry. I think this Cyclops Roc is probably around 50-60L, having compared to a 30L pack. It does cinch down nicely. I think this...

Berghaus Canvas Rucksack Purchase - Advice On Proofer

Thanks. Was thinking about wax cotton dressing, but am debating whether the greenland wax might give a "drier" finish as opposed to a "sticky" Barbour finish, and it waxing up everything it comes into contact with.

Berghaus Canvas Rucksack Purchase - Advice On Proofer

Hi Thanks for the info. Have you used this on canvas rucksack? Did it darken it at all? Yes it was Cyclops Roc, with side pockets. Looks to be around 50/60L +15. Regards.
