    Rainwater harvesting system

I’m pretty sure I had seen a Barb connector for garden hose. I’ll have a check in a bit.

    Rainwater harvesting system

Good to hear! Thinking about it a bit more I’m thinking for my use (allotment) that hoses with hose clamps might be better. While we don’t really have many problems on the site, I could see hozelok being easily messed with and taken off.

    Rainwater harvesting system

Just bumping this back up as I’m curious if you’re still happy with the hose connections. I’ve always found them to leak eventually so not sure I would trust them to link the tanks. How is it going?

    Best car roof rack?

Thule is always my go to brand however some cars just don’t suit decent sized loads on the roof. If it’s the style of roof bar that has to attach by clamping into the frame below then I’m less keen versus fix point. It does depend on what you’re carrying though.

Modern Haybox ( Insulated container ) Cooking

Yep, that’s the idea. Some cookers need more input when first turned back on but in this case simpler is better. You could trial it just by covering the cooker in loads of cloth, tea towels, etc (like the wonderbag). Every time I cook rice or pasta I just bring the pan to the boil, take it...

Modern Haybox ( Insulated container ) Cooking

I have a PIR set-up for a cast iron pan and it works well. Taking your idea, have a look into homemade sous vide - I don’t know if your rice cooker is just an on-off but the homemade sous vide uses that style of slow cooker combined witha thermocouple switch to turn the cooker on or off...

    Banned dogs - thoughts

Nothing to apologise for. It’s a good topic. Personally I’m a dog enthusiast but I do agree with the ban. There’s something with the XL where they just seem to be triggered and I don’t believe it’s down to lack of socialisation and training. Even if it is, I just feel it’s too risky.

    Car sleeping?

I sleep in my car fairly regularly when it’s just me on a trip. The only way I could see my wife being happy with that setup is either a roof tent or significant modification to the sleeping setup inside. It works fine for me as I can fall asleep pretty much anywhere but it’s not the smoothest...

    Government emergency website

Legionella isn’t an infrastructure problem but will be an on site management issue. Every school knows they have to manage it and they’ve clearly got lax in their practice. Dealing with it on a weekly basis is one of those jobs that feels pointless.

Avon's spray finds calling as midge repellent for Royal Marines

I’m pretty sure that skin so soft had the formula changed some years back and it no longer works for this. I’ve used some pre change and it worked well.

Yeah no worries. I’ll stop the questions.

Heads up - Post office not sending sharps after 22nd April

I did some searching on the RM site to see if they had further detail. This is a better way to write it as they’ve changed the order and added bullet points. https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/96/kw/bladed

Heads up - Post office not sending sharps after 22nd April

Out of interest, what do you interpret the line “international destinations - not allowed in the Mail” to mean? I don’t see how it can be interpreted any other way.

Heads up - Post office not sending sharps after 22nd April

I did read the details in the link you posted and it looks very straight forward. It says no bladed items to be sent international.

What fuller understanding is needed than no bladed items for international destinations?

Looks pretty clear with that simple one line, doesn’t it.
