Just in case somebody wants to read interesting but slightly morbid medical text look: "cytokine storm covid". One gets a lot of explanations on immune systems workings in covid.
Apparently for many people it is your own immune reaction that causes the worst symptoms. That is the reason why young healthy people get it bad. The same happened during WW1 Spanish Flu. Also that's why medication that temporarily dampens the immune system work.

One of the present buzz words seems to be micro plastics. Some time ago I saw a test made with various "plastic" outdoor clothing. The problem was with discontinuous fibers like fleece and stapple yarn products. Continuous fiber products gave an unmeasurable amount. The test was done by...
Cotton can be recycled, fairly easily at that. Reconstituted cellulose fibers is a well known technology, several options available. We could replace grown cotton possibly within a few years with ReCe fibers made from other cellulose sources if necessary. As far as I understand it would be a...
Some older Moras were three layer laminates with the hard layer in the middle. Those could easily be bent to various shapes because the soft outer layers did not prevent it. I do not know about the present ones but there is a chance that such layered design still exists.

All the heat energy you are losing will be in the bag. At a slightly lower temp though with more clothing (and a bit less, yes).
That logic does break down at some point.
I was looking at "Tactical 3" in Leka and it looked nice and temp rating was about right but I had not realized - before checking- that their rating is not based on the STD used by many others. Have to put that on hold.
As said before there is a EN/ISO standard on measuring the ratings. Even that might not be altogether realistic but at least using it would put all on the same measuring stick and give fairly good relative results.
This reminds me of times about 60 years ago when next to our cottage was a small farm at the time still practicing, a few cows some cultivated fields but all together not really enough. I remember helping there in hay fields and observing that basically in that family everybody could do almost...
