Bushcraft tools that could be classed as weapons?

Is that the reason you were confined to the islands? :D

    Be a real man!

There is the problem with most household machines that they are designed to be used by women. Their operating logic(alness) and user interface are just plain impossible for even a fairly schooled male. Falling back to more primitive methods is in most cases not possible. (Edit: not so...

Bushcraft tools that could be classed as weapons?

And interpreted by whom? With what preconceptions and what political agenda. Just think of the judge as "Putin". Those are in no way absolutes but very relative to any whim being fashionable at the moment.

    HEXAMINE. PLEASE READ!

Copied from Esbit safety data sheet: "... Keep away from sources of ignition - Do not smoke. Eating, drinking, smoking, as well as food-storage ..." So in absolutely no case should it be used for warming water for tea. :D

Snugpak Elite 3 not very warm

    Pity, they look well made.

    HEXAMINE. PLEASE READ!

I quite agree with the first part but somewhat disagree with the second they are not trying to keep it from ordinary trekker who wants her tea warm but from terrorists, wannabe and others. I know there are neutralizing solutions that work on both acid/base cases, don't know much more about them.

Snugpak Elite 3 not very warm

For some reason Snugpak does not appear to use the existing EN/ISO standard but uses their own. From their pages one can assume that it is based on surrounding air temp and ground insulation is assumed adequate. There is the usual caveat that people differ and so on ...

    New from maker of Sissipuukko.

By putting "veistopuukko" or "vuolupuukko" in search one gets most of the whittling models sold here in Finland.

Traditional puukkos thicker than you think

What is that? I do have several. He seems to be fond of making jewelry, nothing wrong with that in itself but I prefer working knives. I have several but but have more of other types.

Traditional puukkos thicker than you think

I saw some of the pics on the very old ones, one can't really tell what kind of tools they were, not enough left. Also they are very rusty and if the measurement is made in that state the number is kind of meaningless. On a rhombic section blade with some of those widths the edge angle would...

    A Raven Spoon.

Agree, WOW, some of his knife handling looks slightly personal but one really can't disagree with the result. "Slightly personal" means that I have never seen a Finn handle a knife quite like that but that does not mean that it is in any way wrong in my mind.

Traditional puukkos thicker than you think

That quote that gives AKS puukko's thickness as 6 mm is strange as the only reference that fits gives it as 5 mm. But even that is very thick for the type of blades I found under "AKS puukko". I don't have the book where the reference apparently is from so can't check directly. Anything over...

Bushcraft tools that could be classed as weapons?

That is an argument. Has there been less knife crime since the last time laws were tightened? Why else would a government try to prohibit tools?

    New from maker of Sissipuukko.

It is the shape many purpose made "whittling" puukkos use.

Bushcraft tools that could be classed as weapons?

Just for comparison we have an equally bad sentence in our laws: "one can't carry anything that can be used to hurt an other human ...", that has caused legal trouble but still stays. I still can't understand why people defend bad laws. They are there but when they are bad enough that...

Bushcraft tools that could be classed as weapons?

I am arguing that that definition is indefensible and idiotic, it is your bad that you have it. Again in civilized places you can tell from the written law what it means. I am wearing them because they are required on my workplace.

Bushcraft tools that could be classed as weapons?

Like when you intend to hit somebody with your fist? The moment when you decide to kick somebody your shoe? That is a practical impossibility besides being idiotic. A forum post on what can be done with something is in a real world no proof of intending to use it. Last time I was in a court...

Bushcraft tools that could be classed as weapons?

Oh yes you can, it comes down to what the cops recognize. And an awful lot of things a really very dual use. At the end of the day it comes down to your training and attitude.

Bushcraft tools that could be classed as weapons?

That is a lousy weapon actually, a self defense umbrella is way better.
