The longest strip I can cut from my leather is only 39 inches. I must've used more than I thought.

Any particular colour? I have some chestnut leather, it's a very reddish brown. It came with a waxy finish to it as well. It's 3.5mm thick and I wear a belt I made from it as my everyday belt.
I'm not at home right now, but I can measure it when I get back and cut you off a belt width strip

I use the two different sized SMA milk tins. We had a load that we saved from when the kiddies were young. They work really well and are very efficient.

Have you tried kinesiology tape? My wife swears by it. It's not as rigid as strapping your ankle up, and it allows the muscles, etc, to work. It just takes some of the strain off the working parts.
I ripped tendons in my shoulder years ago. I use it when I go to archery and my shoulder lasts...
