    Camping in Woodland

Its not a defence, you would be arrested and would then most likely have to go to court to prove you were following up a wounded animal. So you would need permission to shoot on neighbouring land, and all the FAC stuff that goes with it.

Decked Truck Bed Organizer For Transporting Long Guns

Very nice set up. I can just about squeeze my rifles in the boot of my rather boring hatchback (Kia Ceed). Toolbox, chairs, tables, etc all end up on the back seat. Then again when I started hunting I would cycle with dad down to the shoot, he would have my bike and carry the guns, I had the dog...

    Helle Eggen???

Looks good, and a good price. Surprised the first place that cropped up on a search for it was Go Outdoors! Only thing I don't like (stock photo on the Go Outdoors website) is the sheath, but that's a minor thing. I have a Harding that's got a longer sheath, its stood up well to some general...

    Catching rabbits humanely?

That's not how they are used on rabbits. They are set at a height to catch the head, when the rabbit is caught they tend to stay put (same as rabbits caught in lamp). When picked up and despatched they do not show signs of neck damage. As to whacking them on head with a club, did you read my...

    Catching rabbits humanely?

I have been hunting rabbits for about 30 years, I have tried most legal methods, my Dad was a bow hunter before they banned it and taught me ferretting, shooting, netting, snares. I also did a couple of trials with a bloke doing long netting. Out of the various methods of rabbit control I have...

    Camp coffee advice wanted

Stove top (moka) pots are good, but the coffee from them isn't like a filter coffee, its more like espresso. I take one camping with me, it works well with the jetboil base. There are quiet a few filter based systems out there, the V60 is popular with coffee geeks, or the clever dripper (my...

    Dogs, what you got?

depends how and what you are hunting. Terriers were bread for hunting ground game, but I have also used them for retrieving and flushing birds. Lurchers and greyhounds are also hunting dogs, spaniels + labradors make good retrievers but can also be used to flush game.

Any Gumotex Solar 410 C owners on here?

I am another Gumotex paddler, its the old version of the Solar . When I got it we lived in a flat with little storage so an inflatable was the only real option. Since moving I have a couple of boats but the solar still gets regular use. I have been dropped off by the Mrs, gone for a paddle on...

    Bottled beer recommendations.

I had hoped to try the Gothic at the Dover Winter beer festival, unfortunately it wasn't on. Had to console myself with some greenjack Baltic trader instead. If you like dark strong beer try Gadds imperial Russian stout, its great. Gadds brewery shop is worth a visit if your near Ramsgate, doss...

Shooting on my own for the first time (Clay Pigeon)

Have fun, thats the main thing. When I used to live with my parents the rough shoot was a 10 minute cycle away, would put the terrier in the basket on front of my mums bike, shotgun slip over my shoulder and cycle down the shoot. Mainly to check fox traps, but sometimes to flight duck and geese.
