    Hi! Man of Kent here.

I normally go off a pub name. Think I am a Kentish Man because I was born in Pembury hospital, although parents lived the other side of the river. The Medway banks are North and South around these parts

    Tattoos - Yours and Why

Have been pondering getting something done. My dad passed away last Sunday and I have been thinking of getting something to remind me of him. He got me into reading by giving me a book by Michael Moorcock, so something smallish based on that. That book changed my life, I went from being in the...

    Suggestions for a legal carry

Got searched entering a pub last weekend, put my slipjoint on the table with keys and the security guard handled it correctly with no hassle. Got it back after several pints and some pizza. He identified my knife as legal carry and just held onto it while we spent the evening drinking.

    Suggestions for a legal carry

I carry the svord when out and about in the countryside (or would if I could find the bloody thing), I do have the sheath for it. I the find the size and design good for countryside type tasks, or just whittling. On a day to day basis is something smaller.

    Suggestions for a legal carry

Carrying the Boker (2nd from bottom) at the moment, seems a good mix of size and utility, I also like the deep carry pocket clip. https://heinnie.com/boker-plus-tech-tool-2-city-black

    Suggestions for a legal carry

I have a wide range of UK EDC stuff, the ones that stand out are a very traditional Sheffield hand made slip joint and a Spyderco or two. But I also have a SOG and a Boker tech tool that are only just behind the spydy and pretty cheap, for field use I would get a Svord peasant.

    Raspberry Pi Enthusiasts?

I use them for certain tasks that do not require the full power of a PC. 1 is providing data to one of the aircraft tracking websites (360radar), its been running for a couple of years, sits there with a radio receiver usb stick plugged in intercepting aircraft transponders. Another has an...

    First Aider in the Workplace,

What do you think happens when somebody has heart failure? 4 of our first aiders spent 25 minutes doing CPR before the ambulance turned up, and it worked the women recovered. After that they purchased a defib and increased the number of first aid trained staff to about 20. I've used my training...

    First Aider in the Workplace,

Yes I am and also a coordinator for emergency response, and I run the BA rescue team. We handle some quiet nasty materials at work including phosgene and chlorine so we have a BA rescue team, we go in to check and extract casualties plus make safe. First aid wise the main stuff I have dealt with...

    Commuting - How far?

Its more time than how far. My wife's commute was twice as far my I drive but took the same amount of time. 45minutes (each way) is about right for me, would go a hour if I liked the job enough. Work is 15 miles from home. Previously it was 10 minutes on the bike or 20 by car. I cannot work from...

    Universal Basic Income

I would use it to fund a 4 day working week and maybe some training and education. My preference would be for the money to go to the poorer end of society rather than everybody. I suppose they would have a way of clawing it back based on tax, middle and high earners would be paying more tax. I...

RPG - the type of game not weapon

There is something called LARP. Live Action Role Playing games, people meet up, do a variation of re-enactment, role playing, fantasy type stuff in real life. Some bloke made the news a while back when the police encountered him dressed as mage and carrying a repro sword. On the tabletop...
