Looks like your basic b&q etc.. axe. Look into Fiskars and husquvarna, as well as hults bruk. You'll get axes from them ready to go straight out the packaging.

The dutch got issued a fantastic bergen not that long ago, came in their version of DPM. It had wider and better padded straps with an adjustable back, no idea if you'll find them now but they were much better than the issue bergen. They had a good patrol pack too in the same DPM.

Jayjays use cobra buckles on their newer webbing sets, they have 2 smaller locking buckles to either side to keep the adjustment. You would need a it to be a thin-ish belt though.

They sell the correct poles for not much money these days, google tarp poles. Those, walking sticks or a decent stick found on the ground all work. If there are no trees at all then 4 poles would be ideal.

I don't remember ever having an issue with condensation and its nice to be able to keep the flies etc.. away from your face. Its not "light" in modern terms but its not exactly heavy. The lightest bivvy i have is a hunka XL by Alpkit. Its good, but does feel more fragile.
