what useless kit have you bought?

I hope I don't upset the original poster of this photo but we all can be guilty of this to some extent. I suffer with painful hands in the cold and I have a large glove collection. but sods law always says I pack the wrong ones. there is always a better pair in the house or worse still in the...

yea and you could probably do the same thing with a short piece of cord and a quick release knot

what useless kit have you bought?

Sometimes kit looks like a good idea in the shop but in reality you have no use for it. Sometimes it is just not fit for purpose. Sometimes you double or quadruple up on kit because a "better" version is released. I have some of these grimlock carabiner's. seemed like a good idea but...

Karrimore predator patrol 45 vs sabre 45

I think if you want molle get the predator. the side panels are ok but your are adding weight. I am not a massive fan of molle the extra weight of it mounts up surprisingly fast. unless you are in the military I would avoid it.

Karrimore predator patrol 45 vs sabre 45

the predator is a dedicated military rucksack so it is Hardwearing flexible (almost unlimited different pouch options) is able to cope with very heavy loads but these make it heavy in comparison and as stated it is designed to be worn with webbing (and or body armour) so as with most...

    snugpak stratosphere

Has anyone got any experience with this product. I have seen a couple of negative reviews about condensation build up whilst other highly recommend it. I often find myself up in the hill where trees are scares so putting up a tarp requires poles ect and this may work for me enabling me to...

I need a new backpack and I am looking at the SF sabre 45

well I went ahead and ordered the sabre 45 in typhon cam with the matching side pouches. I don't think this pattern is a very good camouflage ( I think it is supposed to be for urban night ops) but I just liked it and thought it looked nicer than plain black if I had gone for a solid colour I...

I need a new backpack and I am looking at the SF sabre 45

Mark I already have the yoke and hydration pack in army issue DPM. I also have a set of DPM side pouches and as it is all compatible it does seem a good option for me. the only reason I have not ordered on yet is because I cant decide on what colour to get

I need a new backpack and I am looking at the SF sabre 45

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHNO-6P0WJA I had the idea of using cheaper army surplus side pocket rather than the expensive Karrimor SF side pockets. Then maybe I could paint them up to match the main pack better than the DPM or OD colours of the army kit. has anyone tried anything like...

Mountain warehouse Everest Down Sleeping Bag

I went ahead and ordered a snugpak tactical 4 sleeping bag. I have used snugpak bags before so I know what I am getting (both good and bad points). I did like the look of the Robin's Hunter down bag but I decided that was a little too expensive for me.

I need a new backpack and I am looking at the SF sabre 45

just to avoid the military look I thought I would go for the typhon pattern and it is a little different. Altough it does cost a little extra

I need a new backpack and I am looking at the SF sabre 45

yes. I am not sure what the intended use was for that style of webbing loops but that layout does not look particularly useful. If you want molle then the Karrimor SF predator would be the one to go for. but I don't really want molle and the extra weight the webbing straps add (although they do...
