Recommend me a small paraffin stove!

I'm no stove guru (that's Rik;)). It's just running on paraffin was one of the things I wanted when I was lookiing for a stove. I ended up getting a 111T and I love it. Weighs a fair bit but is brilliant. Between that and a DragonFly with a silent cap I think I'm sorted :) Cheers Grebby

Recommend me a small paraffin stove!

I didn't think you could burn paraffin in those two? Weren't they petrol type fuel only?

Anyone had a Citroen Dispatch Combi?

Keep the 110 and fuel it with bio or veg oil/diesel mix if the engine is going to be OK with it?

    3mm Dyneema for ridge line.

I've just read noticed the bit about super glue. This will probably knacker the splice. It will probably pull on the strands strangely and the hard bits of glue may abrade the weave. I know I have holes in some t-shirts where I got superglue in them and the then hard glued are cracked and broke...

    3mm Dyneema for ridge line.

Until a splice is loaded and the weave has tightened on the inner it is prone to slip. I've never seen a splice where the tail is looped round and fed back into the centre of the rope, I would imagine that if they are used then the bury (where the rope end is inside the other bit) would need to...

Yeh but he wants it for a ridge line.

    3mm Dyneema for ridge line.

Actually looking again it does say 12-plaited, heat set and covered. Does it have an inner and an outer? If so different splices would be needed than when using standard D12 type stuff(I.e. hollow)

    3mm Dyneema for ridge line.

The ebay link says Liros D-Pro. Here is the manufacturers page http://www.liros.com/en/products/productfinder/details/detail/liros-d-pro.html Other than the ebay listing showing it as SK75 and D-Pro saying SK78 there isn't much difference. Does it look like the liros link? It is 12 strand so...

    Bit windy

It's a bit blowy here too. We have 3 fence pannels down. I just saw/heard the last one go. I heard a crunch and watched it fly across the garden about 3 ft off the ground the whole way. Going to have to get some new ones:rolleyes:

Dad remembers using them. I was asking him about them because I was considering using one on some form of stand to heat water for our bash on the farm. There are normally 30+ people including kids now so hat water in a big bucket seemed like a nice idea. Nothing came of it in the end, we just...

    Which stove

I've got a 111T which is, as Rik said, brilliant but not light. I run it on paraffin. I also have a quiet stove cap for my DragonFly and it makes that quiet. If it can keep a DragonFly quiet then there should be no problem for your Omni, correct version required obviously.

Hi BR, By wash copper do you mean the big sort of upturned bowler hat shaped thingy (built into a brick fireplace thing) that they used to heat the water? We have a number of the above used as water troughs on the farm. they are cast iron mind, not copper. If that is what you are looking for...
