Morning UncleBoob,
i have an old Garmin GPS III sitting gathering dust - I know it has a 12v power lead and a mounting cradle as well. No idea of value however - I'll dig it out later and ensure it works.
I have an Etrex Touch which is nice and fast as GPSs go, but still laggy compared to an iPhone. Most of my mapping is done with software on an iPhone - far cheaper and easier unless you are adamant you want a dedicated GPS.
Yeti or Octavia? Scout is just the generic name that Skoda use for 4x4 vehicles with slightly lifted suspension.
I looked at both recently - Octavia wasn't avaioabke for my budget with DSG and the Yeti had a small boot.
I eventually bought a Passat Alltrack. The four wheel drive is very...
I was about to suggest Sconds and Co but someone beat me to it! I used them for the insulation on my workshop and garden room. I had a mixed load of 50mm and 100mm celotex - the pile was easily taller than me! Just beware that it will come on a rigid artic vehicle, and that you may have fun...
Definitely make some calls to smaller local tree surgeons - when we moved into our home three years ago I had about nine tons of softwood (pine and conifer, which burns perfectly well in a stove) for under £100. No-one wanted to buy conifer as it isn't considered a good wood for burning - I'll...
Welcome Caroline.
I love all things Scandinavian in general, and Swedish in particular. I was born in Stockholm and it always feels like I have a tie to the place.

Gary - I've got lots at home that I've not used in years. Sadly I'm not going to the Moot but will stick them in the post for you. PM me your address and I'll get them out this week if I get the chance to nip to the post office.
I've recently traded an old model eTrex 20 for a newer eTrex Touch. Far superior in every respect - faster scrolling through an OS map, much better interface, easier to use without buttons etc.
Just a heads up - Lidl are doing thier electric chainsaw grinder jobby at the moment. For £20 I think it's a real bargain, and I'm delighted with how well it sharpens chains.

Welcome Baldman!
I'm not a million miles away from you, just outside Sherfield on Loddon.
My my wife and I are planning our first Canadian canoe adventure this week - paddling from Hay on Wye. In support of that, we are hiring a canoe for a practise some time this coming week from Odiham for...
