Source of webbing / buckles etc

Folks, I'm after a UK source of high quality side release buckles and webbing in various sizes and colours. I can find sites selling one but not the other, and vice versa. Any recommendations?

Tarp plus space blanket? anyone tried it?

Indeed - clever stuff. Basic idea was that the long wave radiated heat energy passed through the plastic sheet and was reflected down to the sleeper by the space blanket. The warmth of the air is short wave radiated heat so can't escape back through the plastic sheet. Block the ends and you have...

Tarp plus space blanket? anyone tried it?

They made a similar shelter in Series 1 Episode 1 of Dual Survial - with a plastic sheet in front of the shelter and a space blanket inside.

Making a gas bottle wood burner

That's enough. The water displaces any gas and, when emptied, is replaced by air. The water will come out a bit oily - if it makes you feel better you can refil with water and empty a few more times. You could even fill to three quarters and tip onto it's side and then cut at the top.

Which bike shall I go for??

Nice work - shame about the weather eh? I collected a new R1200 GS Adventure in April and have only put a few hundred miles on it - no fun riding in the rain! Next thing - get yourself booked onto a Bikesafe course - cost peanuts and it will move your riding on hugely.

    My 5th knife completed....

Beautiful blade - are the pins available commercially or did you make them? And what's the story with the chainsaw - why did he have to grab it?

    Paracord bracelet opinions please.

Useful IMHO - can't beat having a bit of gucci string knocking about. My buckle is a whistle version - I was walking the dog in some woods a few months and came very close to turning my ankle in a rabbit hole. I didn't have my phone or EDC with me and it got me thinking about how I could summon...

    help with sanding

You can get sanding mesh now which is a fine mesh covered with carbide grit of various grades. The advantage is that it won't clog with sawdust, and that a 5m roll is about six quid from eBay.

ok... Give me something new to do...

Got an iPhone or similar? Try geocaching. When you read about it, the activity sounds utterly daft - you navigate to a location using the GPS on your phone (or GPS device if you have one) and search for a little box (or cache) which someone else has hidden. You then sign your name to say that...

    Home made jerky, first attempt

The best results I've had with jerky is using a Jerk Spice Mix - in the little Schwartz bottles everything else comes in.
