Luxe tents do some winter inners that the lower 1/3 or 1/2 is solid rather than mesh, for example the V4a or V6a inners. Valley & Peak took over the UK dealership when Back packing light UK closed. I haven't looked at the dimensions compared to the Smokey.

Put the bottle in the carrier. Stick everything else in the mug and put that in a another pouch or pack.
Pretty common way USGI’s (amongst others) used their set up.
Yes, I think some of it comes from poorer folk having limited clothing. So really layering being the only option with base layer linens keeping the insulation clean.
I have lined a long wool coat with heavy linen before and this is very wind proof. Stiffer than wool alone but not an issue for...
A good idea.
Most of the clothing I make is historical or is at least “historically inspired” pre-renaissance type stuff. Removable linings are not something I’ve noted but a good research project!
A separate lining for a simple wool coat is quite doable. I am tempted. :)
I had perhaps misinterpreted your question. For example.
Are you asking about large quantities of fuel for something like a wood fired heating in a home/van/canal boat? The latter ones having limited space to store and season it amongst other things.
Or
Are you asking in the spirit of the...
A mate of mine always asks roadside tree fellers and is never short. But this usually big stuff and of course being rural and having a car helps.
He also drives a Subaru so they may just be feeling sorry for him as he is so special.
Mostly naturally fallen dead wood.
When I had the time (and cartilage) to do long distance walks I used wood as a back up only as I tended to travel higher level areas which are pretty denuded in the UK. :(
These days if I can swing an overnighter past the “guvnor” I’m in local wooded areas...
An ex-colleague of mine runs a firm training anti-poaching trackers. Not in the UK but they are active all the time.
Had a go at being hunted by Rangers service once, much like the Ray Mears episode. They will find you, it's just how long. They are reading the ground and assessing where you...
There is a folding Esbit one, pretty much like the German one (might be the same).
If you are going with solid fuel then the little fold up Ti ones are quite stable and are tiny. Sits inside the small Wildo foldacup.
And then use heavy Alu foil as a wind screen.
I’m not sure if the Belgian...
Sew a new wool coat or smock. I'm being indecisive, as I've cut most of the pieces.
A) Can I be bothered to line it (and with what)? I'm leaning toward unlined for year round usefulness.
B) To machine sew it or do it by hand sew with bone needle? The former is an hour including button holes...
According to

the Banshee can be pitched all in one (with practice).
Looks quite a nice tent for the money and the 300 might be useful for the hound. 2.8kg.
Feral and semi feral domestic cats have been in the British isles from at least Roman times. Very similar wildcats came over on the land bridge.
Yard cats are useful to keep vermin in check around most farms. They are bloody good ratters.
My (not scientifically based opinion) is that house...
Welcome.
Mine are a bit older than two. But I started with warm weather back garden camping and introduced having them check and assemble kit and then a few skills like putting up a tarp.
Keeping the tent tidy so I didn’t end up laying in sweet wrappers…
Worked up from there by going to...
