I think we are talking at cross purposes. I was suggesting the company (in it for profit) should provide you with what you need not expect you to fork out for your own gear. The company has an obligation to their staff whether paid for or volenteer, better also check what insurance covers you too.

You've lost me? The OP's post is pretty clear, it's a job which makes a profit, before that profit the owner of said company should ensure his workers have the PPE and support needed to be able to provide the service being sold

When there is money to be made in disaster/incident/emergency situations we really are doomed and when you are employed to deal with disaster/incident/emergency situations and not supplied by said company you are too

Ashley Harrison who makes knives for A Wright and Sons seems to be branching out problem is the only contact seems to be through instagram - I avoid such sites like the plague, just wondering if anyone has an email for him?

Yep thats the one quite like the Douro too but knivesandtools aren't a UK company they will probably be my backup go to though
