    Walnut Pocket Spoon

Another gorgeous piece, Mark. I've been working on a coffee scoop from a piece of walnut, but I've had the blank for years and it's seasoned like granite. I (and my hook knife) dread going back to it, but we'll get there eventually!

    What did you buy today?

A Victorinox Forester M Grip. Wanted something pocket sized that could cover off cooking/food prep as well as a bit of campcraft. I looked at the Rangergrip, but felt it was slightly overkill. So far love it except for the liner lock which, for me as a right-hander, operates totally...

Voluntarily handing in a large blade to the UK police

Just to add that I agree with Chris and Teedee - I can't see how there is any legal issue with you owning, gifting or selling this knife. Part of the definition of a zombie knife is that it displays: "images or words (whether on the blade or handle) that suggest that it is to be used for the...

Voluntarily handing in a large blade to the UK police

Just wondering what the source is for this new law being applied, I couldn't find anything?

    The other half - Handles.

I've never seen the carve-your-own Opinel before. It would make a fabulous gift, but it seems to only be available from Opinel with €17 delivery. For my money, I do like micarta for durability. My next-to-be-tested knife is a Joker Bushlord with unstabilised walnut scales. It's very grippy, but...

    Watch repair vs new watch?

I don't know if it's the same, but when the battery is low on my Seiko Kinetic, the second hand moves in 2-second jumps to indicate it needs charging.

    What did you buy today?

The new MT900 Insulated sleeping mat from Decathlon/Forclaz/Simond. 3x warmer (R5.4) and twice as thick as my old one. Bought abroad too, so made a bit of a saving. (Just tested it on the living room floor and woke myself up snoring so it's a good start)

That was my understanding, thanks for confirming.

    Frontier Bushcraft Intermediate Wilderness Course

Was this back in the day when Ray was still a regular instructor, or more recent years when having Ray is a paid extra? If I was to pay £1k extra for the 'Ray version' of a course, I'd be a little miffed if that was just to watch him go fishing.

    Frontier Bushcraft Intermediate Wilderness Course

Thanks you for the replies. I've taken the plunge and signed onto the Intermediate course with Frontier. While I was taken with bushcraft fever, I enquired about the Journeyman with Ray as well. One of their prerequisites is that you've done Woodlore's fundamental course. I've asked if having...

    Frontier Bushcraft Intermediate Wilderness Course

I'm looking to do some more learning this year, having done the Woodlander with Wild Human (formerly Woodsmoke) last year. Frontier Bushcraft's dates work well for me, so I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of their teaching (or specifically that course), or any recommendations...

    What did you buy today?

An ex-demo Olight i1R EOS for €11. Visited my favourite outdoors shop in Valencia while I'm here (Aventura Gimenez), hoping to come away with some new cutlery - they have a very comprehensive selection of Spanish brands like Joker, Muela, Cudeman, J&V etc. I had my eye on a Joker Artica in...
